I totally love this place. Food is amazing, from beginning to end, the hospitality and sympathy is remarkable, the settings is so welcoming...It's like dining at your grandparent's. Been there 4 times in 2 different years. Always excellent. The owner is honestly gentle, the waitresses are "un amore". Will definitely come back next year. Everyone loves to be addressed by his own name as if you were an old friend. Prices are very friendly, too!Would absolutely recommend it and will certainly come back more than once!Guillermo.

Local typical Tuscan with large panoramic terrace
Whilst staying in a nearby Agriturismo we found this hidden little gem of a restaurant in Riparbella, we were seated outside on the terrace and had an excellent meal. Everything we eat was top quality especially the home made pasta. All at a very reasonable price.

To be honest the only minus here is that it is a small place. But it is great. To me, probably it is the best pizza in the area. And not only the pizza, all that is served is highly carefully selected so you can find all kind of ham and cheese and wines and beer!

We ate here twice during a holiday in Tuscany. The first time there was a set menu at an excellent price which included local specialties such as pasta with wild boar sauce and rabbit. The second time we chose à la carte and thoroughly enjoyed very interesting dishes such as duck in a chocolate and pine nut sauce and steak with different original sauces. Good prices and excellent service. We sat outside as it was August, but the interior looks great.

La cantina is a family-owned restaurant located in the center of Riparbella. I have been there many times in the last ten years, and, although the style of the menu and the inner décor changed a lot through the years (they turned the restaurant from a simple country meal trattoria, when it was run by the father, to a more posh place, when the son became the manager), they kept the same quality and the same Tuscan-style tradition (the head chef is still the mother, an old-style Tuscan cook). It is hard to get the full menu (antipasti, one primo piatto, one secondo piatto, plus the dessert) without being stuffed well before the end. My advice is always to take mixed antipasti, which are basically composed by a selection of affettati (prosciutto and salame toscano) and good crostini (baked or deep-fried croutons, topped with meat sauces), and either a selection of primi (my favorite ones are tagliolini with truffle, and pappardelle with wild boar sauce), or some tagliata (grilled beef sirloin), with some fresh vegetables (spinach or baked potatoes). Finally, a dessert, accompanied by some fine liquor (grappa morbida is my favorite one). The selection of wine is great (they also sell wine bottles online). The service is always nice and passionate, and the atmosphere is really quiet and relaxing (the restaurant room is obtained by adapting an old cattleshed, with still shows the original timber beams). The restaurant became a little bit pricey in the last few years (say 40 euros for the dinner I described above, including some local wine), but it always deserves a visit. All kind of dinners (couples, family, friends, and business) can fit this restaurant, which is open also for lunch. Due to the limiting seats, reservation is highly recommended.

After a sunny day on the beach we decide to have dinner in Montescudaio to see the sunset from the spectacular terrace with an outstanding sightsee. We stopped in this small restaurant with few tables inside. The restaurant is an old olive mill house managed from a family, Mother, Father and Son. We had very good food and very good wine. You can select your dishes through a discrete selection of meat and fish. All the materials are prime quality .Price isnât cheap but worth for money.

I discovered this place two years ago as I stayed at la Pieve vecchia hotel for a couple of days and have been coming back since. The food is fresh and cheap and service is very good. The head waiter is an especially kind and beautiful person. What is more it is a magnificent setting and kids can play on the swings and enjoy their time while waiting for the food

A very recommendable restaurant ... do not expect luxury, just good food and a very nice people. Delicious pasta, good wines and great cheeses ... what else?

I have been in this place for dinner. We took appetizers, main course and dessert. No wine. Overall, the menu was varied and well exposed. This indicates a great passion of restaurateur in their job.An antipasto misto well presented, excellent cured meats and especially the fantastic pie boar.A stunning second: the wild boar riparbellina with roasted potatoes. I assure you that is the best boar I've ever tasted. Finally a great dessert: apple pie with mascarpone.Concluding: perfect dinner, excellent food quality, very good preparation and presentation of dishes, good price: 30 euro.Fast delivery of dishes.Try it.

This was truly terrible. It is such a great location and we were so disappointed as unfortunately that is all it is. The female waitress was so rude in a non verbal way. She threw our food at us and one main came 20 mins after the rest!! The dirty cutlery had dried food on it and we just got a rude stare and no apology when we asked for another set. There was only one other table there when we arrived so they don't even have the excuse of being busy!! The male waiter was more pleasant. The food was ok tho nothing to rave about but then again the service made everything taste sour. My mussels were stone cold. We had to ask for some bread more than once. We escaped as quickly as we could not really wanting to pay but not having a material reason not to. Maybe they had their poorest staff all in on 11 July 2017 evening? Or maybe they don't like Scottish tourists. Who knows. Sorry but Walk on by it's not worth a visit. Really really poor experience and totally spoilt our evening.
