Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Ravenna. Ravenna once was the capital of the Byzantine Empire in Italy, and it still has amazing mosaics recalling that heritage. Also make sure you visit Dante's tomb, as well as the little pile of rubble where local residents hid his urn during WWII to prevent it from being damaged.

Most Italian restaurants of whatever quality serve large amounts of pasta which after all is a relatively inexpensive food to cook. This quite beautiful restaurant (it's decorated in much the same semi-rustic style as most restaurants at least in Ravenna) is somewhat different in being "modern". While clearly Italian and probably Tuscan, there are more than enough individualistic touches in the dishes and in the cooking to make this, at least in our experience, quite unique.Servings are discreet, tending towards smallish but beautifully presented and very fastidiously served by very attentive wait staff. The distinctiveness of the cuisine of this restaurant left a positive impression on me.

Just a great family restaurant serving nothing but wonderful fresh sefood. Best tuna I've ever had. Friendly service as you'd ever want. When we returned a second night they greeted us like old friends. FYI - seafood only!

Absolute fab and very very delicious, best of Italian dishes! Pastas, seafoods, grill and pizzas are all mouth-watering! I love their pizzas, especially that in Italy, however the pizza capital of the planet, a lot of them are just too dry and boring, but the pizzas here have the gooey-cheesines, lots of toppings, soft and crunch combined, meaty, tasty and never rubbery:) Iâve tried all their pastas and even the very basic spaghetti with ragu sauce is such a dream with great authentic sauce and flavor. My husbandâs favorite, Gnocchi di Ricotta verdi al Gorgonzola is their unique specialty I guess, considering that he has been ordering this super dish for the past 20 years and canât find the same recipe anywhere else! Itâs not all potato white gnocchi but gnocchi with rich cheeses inside, gorgonzola included and greens in the filling. Deserts are yummy as well and the staff and owner are always friendly, interiors are charming and quaint, neither too big or smallâ¦any occasion will do here plus itâs sweet that the location is down a little slope from the road where its neigbors are the wonderful, rustic fields everywhere. All stars for this excellent family-run restaurant.

Kids satisfied with panini with fish and salads, happy even they haden't eaten french fries with ketschup. Wonderful experience for all of us and the satisfaction about healthy and tasty food was great. The kids received on the house watermelon and they exclamed happy, like in Greece. Nice owners and very quik service. We've come on you by mistake, and this was an excellent beginning for our visit in Ravenna.

A culinary experience to be repeated next time we pass close to Ravenna for sure as the food was top-quality and served with care and passion. We all had fish as an Antipasta and Pasta and three of our group of five had a shared second course also fish based. All five of us were very happy. The meal was not cheap but it was certainly well worth the price. The lady who ran the resturant also made the very unusal and excellent breads. It's not a big place so do book in advance.

A jewel of the Liberty style: the building, rooms, windows, furnishings, statues, paintings and objects all have a D'Annunzio aura about them. The menu preserves the gastronomic tradition of Ravenna and it serves local specialities with seasonal ingredien
Had a very lux dinner here while staying in Ravenna. We were directed here when I asked for a "local" place. Really good. The restaurant is known for its use of truffles and we were not disappointed. I started with a bignet with parmesan cream and black truffles; very rich. Then I had truffled risotto; great! The restaurant is an old fashioned place with a garden inside in the back where guests are permitted to smoke--not good, but common. All in all, a terrific meal in a charming setting.

I read the rave reviews and decided to reserve a table. Good thing b/c this place is really small. The owners warmly welcome all diners and then serve them as well. The menu consists of traditional dishes, nothing flashy, but everything done very well.

Thin crust, fresh ingredients and a rotating oven surface make this one of the best pizzas Iâve ever had. The owner is clearly a professional pizza maker who knows at the top of his game. A+

Having just spent 3 days in the city with 2 youngish children this was a lovely friendly restaurant / cafe. Costas our waiter was outstanding and we give all credit to him for us returning. The food was good (we definitely recommend the dumplings!), fast and tasty. The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed and helpful (especially regarding portion size for the children). We had pizzas, pasta, hamburger and chips and yummy small donuts! The photos on trip adviser are really old and do not represent the current updated decoration.
