We ordered pitta bread tzatziki humus holoumi as a starter. As a main veg. In pita and pork in pita. All had very strange aftertaste it was not fresh all untasteful, big disappointment. I would not recommend the restaurant at all. The owner was pleasant and attentive the staff was average with no knowledge about Greek drinks nor Wi-Fi password. The warm blankets were nice in this very cold day. Hi KvolkovaWe do apologise on your experience and we will investigate on this matter. Please could your call the owner on 0824473047 regarding this matter.

Old Town Italy Menlyn Maine is a deli and restaurant serving authentic Italian pizzas, pastas and more.
Combination Italian specialty shop and Italian restaurant. Browsed the shop a bit but wasnât wowed. Interesting and varied menu that departs a bit from âtypicalâ Italian but was not super impressive based on what I ordered (smoked salmon pasta - a bit boring). Wine selection is good and staff are friendly and attentive but honestly I expected a bit more.

My husband and I have come here on a few occasions for one of our favourite meals - the beef yiro. The managers are phenomenal. The waiters and waitresses almost always one step ahead of what you may need. The food fresh and tasteful. Genuinely one of the best Greek restaurants in the Pretoria area. For those that enjoy a taste sensation this restaurant is a must. Plaka team - thank you!Good day, Thanks so much for the review and the kind words, we are happy to hear you enjoyed the experience at Plaka Menlyn. We hope to see you again soon!Kind regards,Plaka

Went for a family dinner for my wife's birthday. What an absolutely terrible experience, with shockingly bad management. I have only one suggestion - AVOID. Possibly the worst experience Iâve had at a restaurant in a long long time. When we joined the table it took about 8 minutes to bring menus. When the couple joined us at the table shortly after they asked for menus and were told âthere arenât enough we waiting for some more from outside. This on Monday night with around 5 tables in the restaurant at most. For the first hour and a half, we spent inside the âfine diningâ Italian restaurant, there was Rock music playing. Kings of Leon, blink 182, perfect for a fine dining restaurant right? I think not. When ordering, the âmanager informed us that 3/4 of the items we wanted were not in stock, he then suggested we make a substitution and have the duck breast with stir fry veg. (Not a good suggestion). This turned out to be a terrible recommendation. My son ordered a tuna pizza, only to be told by the manager âwe donât have tunaâ... after hearing they have no tuna. I suggested I run to the Spar downstairs and buy them a tin of tuna quickly. The manager then realized how ridiculous it was to say there is no tuna, he then managed to make a plan to arrange some. The pizza arrived with cold Buffalo cheese. Had to be re-made. Was a soggy disaster. My other son ordered a penne pasta with âwild, wood fire chicken and a peri cream sauce â the sauce had no flavor, the chicken was bland and was simply dumped on the top of the pasta. He sent the pasta back after eating 3 bites, and had since lost his appetite. The most amazing part was when we received the bill and a 10% service fee was added when it was definitely not deserved, THEN to find the pasta which was sent back was STILL on the bill. We paid the full amount none the less. While walking to the door I asked the owner/manager/chef or whoever Claudio may be whether or not they always charge for food sent back uneaten. He begins to explain to us that our table is just fussy, and were looking to get a free meal? He then explained that heâs been there for 12 years and that itâs impossible that the food wasnât up to standard. To play it safe, we did not order dessert. A very disappointing way to spend a special night out....... Will NEVER go back.Good afternoon Sir Thanks for the review really appreciate, we don't understand the meaning but it's okayRegards

Great service here and food freshly prepared. I ate at both lunch and dinner and was happy with both. The range of beers and wines, as well as coffee, was impressive and reasonably priced. It's set alongside the road so can get a little noisy if you're outside, but that was an infrequent issue. No wifi was provided by the Cafe, but public wifi was accessible (though not great).Good day D,Thank you for your review. It is much appreciated. We apologize for not being able to provide wi-fi during your visit, as Telkom was down in the area.Hope to host you soon again.Regards,Cafe 41 Eastwood Team

We stayed for 1 night at the guesthouse, and the breakfast was included with the accommodation. What was so nice about the whole experience, was that we spent part of our honeymoon in Istanbul, and the Turkish/Moroccan decor and touches everywhere took us right back in time. The food was delicious, and not your normal English breakfast, oh no! Special meatballs and eggs, strong coffee, the freshest fruit and much more. We felt completely spoiled! Have breakfast here as a special treat, you will go back! Take time to visit the shop downstairs.Thank you for your song of praises. I've had an unfortunate start to this year and fell straight down into a car service pit, and severed all the ligaments in my ankle. I have been operated and fixed, but now is the long wait to full recovery. Your lovely review lifted my depressed soul and spirit because I really miss my beloved Moroccan House. Thank you once again. Joehan Erasmus

My neighbour and I decided to try out a new restaurant. Situated at Faeriedale Shopping Centre, Cliffendale Drive Faerie Glen, Pretoria.Walking in reminded me very much of a Portuguese restaurant in the South of Johannesburg about 40 years ago, as well as some places in Porto. The décor is kitchen tables very casual. Owner managed, one gets a nice feeling as you walk in. a family restaurant. Our server was Donald, very good, well spoken and sense of humour. The menu is very Mediterranean with Greek, Portuguese plus South African dishes and Pizzas. The kitchen faces into the restaurant, nice. You can see them cooking and get all the smells. To start off we ordered a bottle of Knorhoek dry white. Excellent choice at R110We skipped the starters and headed for the mains.A Peri-Peri deboned half chicken and chips for my neighbour and a Lemon and Herb deboned half chicken with chips for myself.Judging by the clean plates and satisfied smiles, the food was really good.To finish off the meal another bottle of Knorhoek. Will we go again? YES!We will take our wives with us.Hey Phil1949Johannesburg - thank you for the amazing review and all 4 stars. Trust you will have a blessed 2019 and look forward to have you over with your wife's in 2019! Claude & Louise

A contemporary Fine dining Italian Emphasis restaurant serving the finest Organic Meat, fresh Fish and Shellfish and a dedicated Pasta kitchen. Featuring Private dining rooms, Outdoor terrace and our own Humidor and Wine Cellar.
We visited Forti on a Wednesday evening and was quite surprised at how busy it was! We enjoyed excellently prepared dishes and very professional service. All that keeps me from giving the restaurant a higher rating is the lack of ambiance. We sat at a table for two, which was too big and too close to the table right next to it, to have any type of serious conversation. It was also placed directly against a mirror with a light as bright as a hospital's directly shining on the table. It really spoiled the experience somewhat. (Maybe I am comparing the experience with Ritrovo, which was a firm favourite, and it is just not the same)Hi. Thank you for your lovely review. Unfortunately we as a green building use only LED lighting and they do not dim very well. The dim look also is very convenient at hiding dirt. We love our restaurant bright to show off our cleanliness and our beautiful art. I promise you you will get used to it. If it still bothers I will simply take out the light above your table. The Forti dimmer method. With love.
