It was out first time visiting Italy and the first time to actually try the famous Italian pizza. We went to this place as it was near our hotel. The vegetarian pizza were OK nothing spectacular. A decent place nothing good nothing bad. Good ambience and service.

A 10 minute drive from pescia centre, Monte e Pescia is a sweet hilltop village with really nothing there but this restaurant and some incredible, far reaching views across Tuscany. It has a pool, and presumably some rooms. The restaurant is very local and little English is spoken, but they do have a menu in English and staff are jolly and helpful. We ordered the 'mythical florentine' menu, €35 pp (including wine) and everyone shares the meal, family style.First up was a selection of crostini with various toppings, the tomato bruschetta won the day, with lardo coming very close second in the opinions of my fellow diners.Next a pasta course of raviolis in a meat ragu, which was cooked perfectly and so delicious I could have eaten it twice. The main course was a gigantic rib eye, grilled rare and sliced for sharing with the tastiest, creamiest borlotti beans I've ever had. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and cooked so that the fat was soft enough to eat. The beans were good enough to have been a dish in their own right and we greedily scooped up every last one.Dessert was an apple and custard tart, not too sweet and just the right size after all we'd eaten up to then.Surprisingly (for a table of wine enthusiasts/snobs) we all enjoyed the house wine and many comments were made as to its ease of drinking. We finished off the evening with vin santo and biscotti, which wasn't on the florentine menu, but seemed like a good idea at the time. We were served healthy portions of vin santo and an entire dinner plate loaded with crunchy almond biscotti. The views are amazing, the atmosphere is lovely, relaxed and very local, and the service was excellent. If you're visiting Pescia and want to try an authentic Tuscan meal, this is the place to go.

This is a very cozy restaurant next to the famous gardens furnished with Tuscan taste. We were there for dinner and the service was amazing. We were seated at a table next to a window overlooking the garden. Food - we had the menu di degustazione mare - was above average and was to our taste. As we went there after Easter we had a quiet and joyful evening. Recommended!

Cucina tipica toscana, grande scelta di affettati, formaggi e crostini, solo in stagioni funghi, porchetta, coniglio e pollo fritto, carne e volatili
This is our second stay in the mountain village of Vellano in Tuscany and Trattoria Manero ids the local eatery and whilst in teh village we tend to eat there fairly regularly. It is very traditional, there is no menu, and they speak very little english - perfect! We enjoy practising out appalling Italian and somehow get there in order to understand the options of the day and have always had a fabulous meal in the 'glasshouse' perched on the mountain side with spectacuar views across the hills. It is always good value and fun - love it.

We were hungry late at night, so we went to the village to find a pizza place. We walked in to Pizzeria Pucci and were greeted by a friendly waitress. She was very accommodating, ordering us a pizza and boxing it up. I was sorry we didn't bring the whole family down so we could eat in the restaurant. The décor was inciting and the people were so nice and welcoming. And we liked the pizza.

This is a family run agriturismo business with restaurant and accommodation. We tried to book for lunch on ferragosto but it was fully booked. We settled for supper. The restaurant was quieter and we sat down to enjoy the set menu. Good is copious and we managed everything up till the wild boar stew. The service as usual was excellent and Miranda the proprietor in between cooking was a superb host I recommend that everyone should eat here at least once in a lifetime. I eat here more frequently.

From the moment we were welcomed in (at 9:30 p.m.) we felt right at home. Although the ambiance may be a little lacking, it fits perfectly with the home-style atmosphere. AND, while it may lack in linen cloths and napkins, the food and service makes up 10 times!Massimo and his staff made this our favorite restaurant in the region! I am a chef and this was the best lamb dish I have ever eaten...ANYWHERE! The mushroom ravioli, divine! The Panna Cotta...sublime! The food, service and wine were absolutely excellent! How I wish we could have eaten here every night. Thank you Guy Fieri and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. This recommendation was spot on! Grazie Massimo and familia! Ritornero!!!! I will return and send my friends!

Five of us ate for 100 Euro, didn't drink much if anything because I was driving. We had six appetizers and then also a main course. We passed everything around and a good, authentic Italian experience. I like the setting. We sat outside but inside is also nice. There is a pond with ducks. It was packed, luckily we "knew someone".

Fattoria Il poggio agriturismo,ristorante
The location, the food and the service here are all good. But the experience is spoiled by busloads of tourists, noisy and boisterous. This is good for business of course but those of us wanting a quiet Tuscan meal will go elsewhere in Montecarlo.
