Reviews on Mediterranean food in Odessa, Odessa Oblast, Ukraine. With just over a million people, Odessa is Ukraine’s fourth-largest city. Set in the country’s south along the Black Sea coast, Odessa was founded in the late 18th century as a Russian naval fortress. For many years in the mid-19th century, it was a free port, becoming home to a multinational populace. In 1905, it was the site of a major Russian Revolution uprising by crew members of the Battleship Potemkin. The nice old town area has a beautiful opera house, and the city has many great beaches.

Mussels Bar in the center of Odessa. Moules-frites, local fish and popular odessa snacks.
A very small place. Just walked in without reservation and were lucky they had a table. The service very quick. We ordered mussels in beer sauce, and mussels in olive oil, pates of mussels and forshmack an Odessan speciality and of course seabuckthorn tea. AMAiZING!

"MAMAN" is a lady who was born in Odessa, travelled much and knows personally many chefs from different countries. She is fond of cooking and has mixed international and local cuisine in her menu. This food, nicely presented, is loved by local people and
Just a few steps fro the national theater and opera house, the heart of Odessa. They welcome you at the entrance. The place is big with many tables among the trees outside, which are very comfortable. The food is excellent: my wife enjoyed a traditional Borsch, we had an interesting version of Caprese salad with avocado and chicken cutlets with various types of cheese. Service was fast, precise and efficient. Highly recommended

Jardin looks out on City Park, a green and peaceful scene. That was the best thing about this establishment.Although there were few diners, service was very slow. When it came, it was pretentious.I was an English speaker dining with Russian-speaking friends. I was provided with an English menu. As we all discussed our meal options, it became apparent that there was major variation between the English and Russian menus. When I ordered, I was told that the dish I had selected was not available. I asked why and was told I had an old menu. When we did eventually get our meals, we had ravioli with slow cooked duck which was tough and stringy, over-cooked salmon fillet and a tiny serve of rather tough foie gras. There is an extensive wine list featuring wines from all over Europe and several non-European countries. Jardin deserves some credit for having not just a New Zealand sauvignon blanc, but a very good one. Wine prices were expensive however. The mediocre food and poor service was made even less palatable by Jardin's prices. The place is expensive. Therre are several much better restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The position , decor and ambiance was out of the world. The waiter who was assigned to us was very attentive and offered immaculate unobtrusive service. I was dazzled by the cake selection. Rather than choose of the menu I went up to their display and stood like a 7 year old in a candy store. The waiter soon joined me and offered good suggestions and helped me select 2. I considered a 3rd from the mouth watering array but seeing the size decided to restrict myself to 2. I enjoyed every morsel with a freshly brewed espresso, with a fancy picture on the foam. My wife decided on delicious cheese platter, roasted walnuts and crystalized honey and a basket of fresh warm black bread with some super chilled Vodka and coke. We loved both our respective dishes and happily sampled from each other. It was a real treat, and the surroundings certainly enhanced the experience.Thank you for your feedback! come to us again!

Cafe Sovremennik â Read & Eat. Abundance of dishes: pasta, pizza, grill, sushi, desserts and an incredible amount of cocktails, tinctures, wines.
Searching for a quiet place in crowded touristic Odessa we found this great restaurant. Only 15 mn away from the city center, this cozy unique restaurant is located. Original interior with lots of books, cozy paces fot two, and big sofas for big companies. Lovely terrasse with citrus trees and a small stage for live sets. Great kitchen with variety of food: typical Odessa seafood cuisine, original salads and second dishes, pizza, pasta and extremely tasty deserts! We tried different types of pizza, salmon pasta, "forshmak" - everything was really good. Great choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks ( lemonade with raspberry and maple syrup, different shorts produced in-house). Highly recommend for those who want to enjoy lovely time away from crowdy center, with extremely good food.Hello and thank you for your kind review. We are glad you found us and look forward to welcoming you back again soon where you can enjoy some more delicious home-cooked dishes from our new menu! With kind regards

We were for a dinner unfortunately we ate one dish for another, this because the staff did not speak English. The dishes were very salty and we were not satisfied at all, as the service did nothing to apologize, for example by offering something or making a discount on the bill.

The first Italian restaurant without pizza - here the paste is carried in hands! Since 2012, the best pasta in town â is in the "Tavernetta". And not only because of the fact, that itâs made from the same flour, as in Italy. Italy and Odessa share the sam
We visited this restaurant twice. For the first time we stopped for something easy. The food was reasonable and not beyond. The dessert is not good.We decided to give them another chance. Odessa is not known for warm service in restaurants and while getting quality food is not a problem like in this restaurant, it also stands out with really great service. Pasta was amazing, so was pizza (we took another one for sharing afterwards). And for 6 people dine&wine we paid approx 1250 UAH. Which is cheap for such qualityDear elbalive, Thank you for the review. Saremo felici che le è piaciuto da noi! Looking forward to welcoming you back in Pasta&Pizza!
