This is the Pousada restaurant, managed by Pestana. The menu is typical Portugese with regional touches. It's 'fine dining' style, service is professional and friendly. If you make a reservation ask for a window table, preferably the one looking over the country side. With the setting sun illuminating your candle lit table and company life is perfect.

I've dined at a lot of restaurants and this one is right up there. Had the bread for starters as was hungry and its only â¬1.50. Nice light white wine only 9.5% cost ⬠8.50 a bottle and went really well with our selection, it even had a little fizz to it. I opted for the pork with orange sauce and the wife the chicken stuffed with dates and apricots both â¬12.50 each. I cant express how good the jus was there just aren't enough adjectives to describe. The cabbage that came with it was infused with bits of orange as well which tasted amazing. The meals also came with broccoli, carrots and the mist fabulous gratin potato I've ever had. We both loved the meals tonight and the chef should be congratulated, well done.

Nice little restaurant in one of the smaller streets in town. Pasta dishes were very delicious and the service was great. My father ordered a tapas dish for himself but the recommendes him to choose otherwise because of the size of the dish even though that would mean that he would choose a cheaper dish.

Ate here during a holiday in the area. The place had been booked for a party which had cancelled, hence it was very quiet with some walk up business. The food was excellent but a little background music would have helped with atmosphere. Service was ok but not very friendly. Nice surroundings.

I had the bife a Tasca which came with a salad fries and rice. The steak was done perfectly medium rare and was juicy and seasoned perfectly, as was everything else. No need for condiments here! Great meal, great service.

Have visited this restaurant a number of times over the years and made a special effort this time. It was a big mistake the restaurant was freezing cold and the welcome matched it. The proprietor was not present a d it was felt. The food was not up to expectations and my friend sent his back NO apology and full price charged. Now off our list.

We recently spent two weeks traveling across Portugal and we ate in a wide range of restaurants. Overall, my favorite meals were at Restaurante O Calderiao. We had dinner here twice while staying in Obidos. They serve traditional Portguese food at very reasonable price with their own spin on some of the standards. The dining room is casual and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and engaging and helped us through the menu. And, most of all, the food was very flavorful and expertly prepared. We've been coming here for 10 years when visiting parents living in the area, and it's always been a wonderful friendly family-run place to eat. Unfortunately it has always been difficult for vegetarians and that still hasn't changed, whilst the rest of Portugal has started to offer more choice.

Nice little restaurant in walking distance from Ãbidos. Very friendly service, typical local dishes, explanations from the owner (if you want) and menu alterations if you need - and all this at reasonable prices!

This restaurant turned out to be our favorite in all of Portugal. The food was fantastic and the owner super friendly and helpful with his suggestions and explanations of each plate. The atmosphere was cozy and fun - we left feeling like we had just had dinner with old friends. It is a small and popular spot so make sure to reserve ahead.
