The food and drinks at La Capannina are reasonable and pretty good. We had a nice starter with noodles which we shared, pizza for main course and tiramisu and semifredo for dessert together with a light house wine and water. All was good. The service is very friendly and attentive.

Don't expect pizza or pasta here (they don't serve them!) but rather some great cheese selections and cured meats. The portions are large and the prices incredibly reasonable - our four dishes, half liter of wine and sparkling water was just 36E for lunch (fed three people). The crostini sampler (four varieties) was excellent with the truffle spread being the best one as well as the prosciutto and caprese dish (very tasty buffala cheese! The woman working behind the counter speaks some English so it is relatively easy to get service. Do take time to take the steps down to the historic cellar - it dates from the 7th century.

In the extensive and impressive dining room, housed in the old stables of the farm and now furnished with elegant simplicity, it is always possible to enjoy the typical Tuscan home cooking. Open every day for the dinner.

This hotel suited us in out road trip around Tuscany. It is located between Siena and Val D'Orcia and we stayed overnight before heading back towards San Gimignano. The hotel itself is built in the edge of a forest with wonderful views. Murlo, which is the nearby village is suitable only for the basics. We had dinner at the hotel which was satisfactory. This hotel is recommended for peace seekers or just a stopover in a road trip.

Chiuso per ferie dal 17.11.2016 al 10.12.2016
My wife and our three daughters have just had a fantastic dinner at Il Locale Di Guido. My wife and I shared a 1kg Fiorentina Steak, 2 daughters had Filet Steak and the little one had local pasta. We had a small bottle of wine and desserts. Everything was excellent. The service was great too. The entrance to the restaurant is a little peculiar but the dining area itself is lovely. We highly recommend.

We were travelling back fromMontalcino and my daughter really wanted pizza. We saw a sign for the Borgo Antico Hotel Ristorante Pizzeria so we detoured off the main road and entered. (Parking is across the street from the hotel, and down s few steps). We were greeted by a friendly man (perhaps the manager?) and enquired about pizza ... as the sign at the hotel had pizzeria now covered over /blanked out, despite the glass in the entry porch still saying Pizzeria. He I formed us that there was unfortunately no pizza. The signs were out of date. So he offered us the menu and my daughter agreed to try the. Hi men.We took a table indoors despite being told that the terrace is lovely. We'd been eaten alive by Mosquitos already so wanted to be indoors. The dining room was very pretty with arched brickwork /vaulting. It was a very impressive e room.3 of us ordered chicken cutlets with chips whilst my husband ordered lamb. We also ordered some green beans and buttered potatoes as sides to share. We ordered wine and water also for the table. We were brought a basket of dry sliced bread whilst waiting. We were t given olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip it in so we asked for some butter. This totally confused our water who eventually brought out a plate of lettuce with some shavings of butter on top. The food when it arrived was not very nice. Only my son ate most of his chicken. My daughter didn't like it at all so I ate some of hers and some of mine as I thinkIt was supposed to be like that - a very flat thin slice with s lot of breadcrumbs, and it appeared to be fried (for maybe a little too long). My husband said his lamb was over cooked and had very little flavour or meat. The greens were quite flavourless too and the potatoes were very salty. They appeared to be sauteéed but I can't be sure.We didn't order dessert and stopped further along the road to get pizza for my daughter as she barely touched her dinner in the restaurant. On checking the bill we found that they also include a cover charge of 2 Eurostar per person, including our 2 kids. It's called Coperti on the bill (see attached photo), so be aware to factor this cost in. We tipped anyway, despite not enjoying our meal, having failed TK notice the cover charge already on our bill. We won't be back at this restaurant. We wouldn't recommend it either.

This restaurant was recommended by our agriturismo and it was wonderful. We had the risotto, bruschetta, and a delicious pizza with ham, mozzarella and arugula. The wait staff was very attentive and managed to go orders along with our sit down meal. It is quaint and warm and welcoming. Highly recommend. Pricing is well done -food and service well worth mid range pricing. Risotto was best we have had in Italy.

This restaurant was recommended by our hosts at Castello di San Fabiano and it was a good recommendation. This family restaurant in a rural setting is non spectacular inside but the food and service are great. Loved the great food, house wine, service and value for money.
Where to eat Central-Italian food in Monteroni d'Arbia: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Restaurant where you can taste dishes of Tuscan cuisine and savor local wines. We have a wonderful veranda summer evenings and we also do fish dishes. Suitable for ceremonies or for quiet evenings with family or as a couple.
The restaurant is in the town of Monteroni d'arbia which is a short drive from our cottage. We had the steak with truffles which was excellent. The appetizer of quail eggs & truffle was another scorer. Their mains of pasta with wild boar ragu was good too. Overall, the food is highly commendable. We even returned a second time!
