We stopped for a quick drink and a pincho before jumping on the boat. The gentleman was lovely and welcoming and we sat on the terrace in the glorious. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. We asked if we could eat something and he said the kitchen was closed but he could do us some snacks. He offered some french blue cheese and jamon, we said yes. He brought us something of a carpaccio of jamon and a basket of bread. Due to the time he took preparing (totally understandable) we didn't have long before the boat was due to leave so I went inside to pay. I was shocked and disappointed to find the jamon was â¬18.50. We felt like we had been taken a little advantage of, although perhaps we should have asked the price before ordering. A lesson learnt.

What would you expect for a three course meal with wine for 12 Euros? Not much really, which is precisely what we got. It was OK - perfectly edible, but the service wasn't great as we were eating at the end of lunchtime and they couldn't wait to get rid of us!

We enjoyed a very nice lunch at La Bicicleta in the village of Hoznayo ( 20 minutes off Santander) The experience was not the best due to the horrible noise level . Not only the restaurant área is far too near to the bar, which tends to be crowded and too noisy, but the restaurant itself, is made in a way that you enjoy every conversation that takes place in all the tables around you ( which , in our case, where far too many ) . Actually I was tempted to chose an " average" degree because of that problem . If you can live with that , you can enjoy a great experience : Starters : great salads, great rabas ( the Cantabria typical fried squid legs) great fried potatoes with alioli sauce . Only the croquetas were dissapointing .Main dishes : fish sooo fresh, great meat and a fantastic find : they " rabo de toro and foie" hamburguer . Homemade dessert were good as well . And everything was very nicely served by the waiters team . So , if you want to enjoy a place , very nicely decorated , with great food , and are ready to be forgiving about the noise, that is truly your place .

The inner dining room area is worth seeing. Make sure you book a table specifically in that area. We managed to get a table because we went early at 20:30 and promised to leave by 22:00. For my taste the good was on the bland side. Two of us shared 3 dishes: pulpo, pato and lacon with 2 bottles of water total â¬40.

We stumbled across this little gem by chance and thoroughly enjoyed our last evening in Lierganes there. The children's toys theme of the restaurant is unique and cheerful without being overbearing and cheesy. It's family friendly but not at all solely aimed at children. The waiters were extremely friendly and did their best to speak English, there were even English printouts of the menu available - which is a rarity even in much bigger cities in Spain. The food was delicious - the "Los Geppetos" crepes filled with prawns are highly recommended! The prices were extremely reasonable and after a week spent in several different cities in Spain - this was definitely one of the meals we most enjoyed!

The food here is excellent - from the brownies and tortillas to menu del dia: I've never had anything less than fantastic. It has plenty of space indoors as well as a large garden perfect for smokers. It's also reasonably priced. Highly recommended!
