This traditional Greek taverna is situated close to the old Turkish Harbour in Myrina. It serves as a community meeting place offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, sports TV, drinks and occasional live music. We were made welcome in what is a very Greek establishment. The menu offers food suited to various times of the day - our dinner choice was fava, octapus, courgette fritters, and horiatiki, complemented by a bottle of Lemnos retsina.. The portions were generous and delicious. Having done justice to the meal we were delighted to be given a bonus in the form of a plate of yoghurt topped with cherry spoon sweets. The bill for two came to EUR 27. Well worth a visit (or two) if you go to Myrina, Lemnos.

A day out in a hired jeep seeing the historic and natural sights of Lemnos, punctuated with a lovely fish lunch at this restaurant right on the quay. Couldnât fault service or seafood - fresh and beautifully grilled presented. Try the Aroma (local) wine... perfect with the grilled squid.

For a pre-dinner ouzo I usually like to go to the traditional Kafenion 'Aigaion' by the Tourkikos Gialos and its fishing harbour, but this time I was in the mood to sit by the different, but equally attractive Romeikos Gialos. The place 'To Podilato' (the Bicycle) was new to me and the outdoor seating area looked pleasant, very close to the water and with a great view over the bay. The waiter told me that their ouzo is 'Mini' from Lesbos, so that was fine with me. One can have it with a meze (⬠3.50), but I just went for a glass. It was served with a small bucket full of ice cubes, a nice glass bottle of water and an assortment of mixed nuts, thus in a better way than at several other places here.A disadvantage at this hour of the day is the fact that the Cafe Creperie, as it calls itself, is pretty close to the Myrina Castle Rock, behind which the sun disappears. Thus one sits in the shade, when other cafe-restaurants further down on Romeikos Gialos are still bathed in sunshine.

Excellent Greek taverna in the village of Plati. Very busy with mainly Greek customers. Excellent food and atmosphere
Great taverna at the village of Platy, a few km from Myrina. The taverna is a hidden gem. Family management. Meat is grilled in real fire. Staff very friendly. Nice unpretentious atmosphere. Not touristic. All food is fresh and local. Try their fried courgettes and huge 'horiatiki' souvlaki special also recommended!!! Great prices too!

Limnos is an island where one doesnât expect much in terms of fine cuisine. The unspoiled island offers a lot of fantastic ingredients: cheese, honey, herbs,... But when planning the trip, this is all that we expected, along with standard fare in any taverna we would visit. Ennia proved us wrong. In a village in the middle of nowhere, there is this place that is almost like out of a dream. Nested on a little village square, there is its lively bar, while the culinary action is happening in the garden in the back. Laid out atmosphere, kind and efficient staff (donât expect anything fancy in service, but thatâs not the point, is it), and great food. Fortunately, they donât overdo it. Excellent local ingredients, traditional recipes, but all with a tiny twist; just enough to show that the chef knows what it is all about. We were in a larger group, therefore we could taste most of the menu. There was not a single mistake there, but a few dishes stood out anyway: swordfish with chickpea purée, lamb, and local pasta with basil-based sauce. The desserts were not to die for, but still well above standards for Greek tavernas. Prices are higher than in a regular taverna, but Ennia has all the right to do it. I just hope that through time, the plates wonât become even larger, portions smaller, and recipes fancier. They should be aware of what made them popular A wonderful evening that we will definitely repeat when on Limnos again.

One of the busiest restaurants in Myrina and for good reason. Great food and fantastic waterfront views. Try get a table close to the edge for the sunset...just amazing. Can get very busy so service may be a little slow but it is worth it.
