So...ok...you know what you're getting when you order Calzone, cow pie!!!! Well, yes & no. I loved the way La Casetta served this... Giant Cornish pasty but....with tomato sauce in a dish on the side, lovely, I mean really lovely, simply the best! The food & service are both 5 star, it's a bit of a hidden gem, but shouldn't be, best Italian/Greek/Mediterranean in Whitley Bay. A restaurant that deserves, nay demands, your patronage. Go. Soon. It's fabulous!

It isn't quite the "authentic Italian" that the review in the Financial Times suggested, but it wipes the floor with most high street Italian restaurants. Following the FT's advice, we had the meatballs polpette. Excellent. The risotto funghi was also better than most. A good Primitivo, better than many. (Nice with the meat balls.) Pity it was down to small bottles of Prosecco rather than something a bit different. Italians have a much better choice of sparkling wines that we see in the UK. And don't even think of asking for Prosecco in Bologna.Excellent seafood pasta, with no attempt to sprinkle parmesan on top. (A crime against cooking that they did try in another Italian restaurant in London recently.) This is the sort of place that you'd love to have round the corner. Good service and a silly price. I mean <£90 for so much good food and wine? We paid twice that the next day for a decidedly average meal.Just one problem, the taxi driver had a problem finding the place. It hardly stands out in the dark.

Food was good, had the roast lamb which was a good sized portion and very tasty. However service throughout was poor. Long wait to order mains, didnât bring drinks we ordered (had to chase) and were left waiting after main course. Restaurant wasnât heaving, so surprised at level of service.

Me and my partner attend this restaurant about once a month maybe more and everytime the food is brilliant that goes without saying. However today we visited 08/07/19 and the waiting service was terrible 20mins after seated before we were asked for drinks, then another 10mins before ordering food.To top things off the menu said peroni lager £4.40Then it stated beer/lager £3.80 I opted for the cheaper option to be told to only lager available is only the peroni charged at £4.40 unless I wanted Guinness which is not a lager I feel this was a way to force me into the higher price of lager rather than the £3.80Also the happy hour states on a board it runs all night Sunday to Thursday, when a couple asked to use the happy hour they were told it has ended, at this time is wasn't even 18:30 the waiting staff clearly over charging decent customers, who knows if there keeping the over charge or what as normally when we attend the owner is on site, but this day he was not. Very possibly the last time I visit food amazing however the service a scam

The first and only Spanish restaurant in Heaton, located on the up and coming foodie road, Heaton Road. Boquerones brings the best of traditional and modern tapas to Newcastle. Our freshly made Spanish food is based on premium ingredients and well know spe
This was our 4th visit in 3 months and booked for my birthday. We ordered 6 tapas between us I chose my 3 favourite, meatballs, patatas bravas and romesco chicken. My partner had cod fritters, calamari and meatballs. The chicken was skin on and a seemingly disproportionate amount of skin to chicken, unlike previous times the chicken had no skin. When the table was cleared I expressed disappointment and pointed out all the skin. There was no apologies only a comment that the recipe had changed from breast to thigh and cooked skewered! Thigh meat tastes different so I dont think it was but my comment was dismissed. If the recipe was changed I think it should be fully described on the menu particularly regarding skin. This person also advised that a previously enjoyed dessert is kept frozen and could be available on my birthday... incorrect!Lastly and we could forgive this if nothing else was amiss. Dishes come one or a couple at a time, waiting for all the food to be on the table first served is cold. It may be a small kitchen but ive seen smaller cope and serve hot food.May be a while before we go back!Dear Imas52,We are sorry that after your visit yesterday evening you felt the need to leave us a poor review. This is exceptionally disappointing for us as it is our first âpoorâ review out of the 90 reviews we have received in the 7 months we have been trading. There seems to have been some confusion regarding the Romesco chicken dish that you ordered. We have always used chicken thigh from the day we opened, as we feel it is the best type of chicken to use for tapas. The first chicken dish we had on the menu was â chicken skewersâ and these were made using â skinlessâ chicken thigh. We changed the dish to the current â Romesco chickenâ in June and for this we use â skin onâ chicken thigh. You state in your review that you have visited us 3 other times in the last 3 months and that last night you ordered the chicken as one of your âfavouritesâ. From this we come to the conclusion that you have ordered this chicken every time you have visited us in the past and had no previous issues with the skin? This can only make us think that the portion of chicken you received last night was a little skin âheavyâ compared to what you have eaten on previous visits. We apologise that this wasnât to your liking but we do hope you understand, that we cannot control the amount of skin that the chicken grows, in the same way that we cannot control the amount of fat the pig lays down on the pork belly that we serve. With regard to your comment about dessert, this has confused us greatly and we apologise if we have misunderstood what you have written regarding this. We do not freeze any of our desserts after we make them, and do not use â bought inâ frozen desserts. We pride ourselves on the fact that we make everything â in houseâ and the only frozen things we have on the dessert menu are our ice cream and sorbets ( which are again, made in house). From what you have written we can only think that you had one of our â desserts of the weekâ on a previous visit and have somehow assumed that this was a frozen dessert pre bought dessert, that would have therefore been available again on your next visit. We do allow our customers to request and pre order certain dishes that they have previously enjoyed from our blackboard specials and had you requested this â previously enjoyed dessertâ for your birthday visit we would have happliy tried to accommodate this for you, in the same way that we accommodated the request you made to sit on a specific table on the night of your visit. Our dishes do come out one or a couple at a time from the kitchen. Tapas should be eaten as it reaches the table and as this is how it is served in Spain, this is how we serve it at Boquerones. The dishes come out as and when they are ready and each dish has a different cooking time. We cannot therefore hold all of the dishes back in the kitchen until everything is ready as this would then almost definitely ensure that some would come out hot and some cold. Sending everything â at onceâ would then also slow down the entire nights food service and make each table wait at least 20 minutes for their food. Which, when some of our dishes take 3/4 minutes to cook, this just doesnât make operational sense to hold it all back.We are truly sorry you did not enjoy your visit. We do hope that this response clears things up for you and we would have loved to have discussed all of the above with you last night, if you had told us at the time about all of the things you were unhappy with. This could have then ensured that you left us feeling happy, that we had taken your feedback onboard, that we had fully apologised to you and had tried to resolve your issues. If we do not know we have problems, we cannot fix them and we would much rather do this face to face at the time they arise, as Iâm sure 99% of the other restaurant operators in Newcastle would. You say you may not return to us for a while, during that time if you go somewhere else and something goes wrong, tell them at the time, it really is better for everyone all round.Team Boquerones

1st authentic Lebanese restaurant owned by Lebanese
Just great Lebanese cooking with delightful service. The food here is simply wonderful and highly recommended. Perhaps the only issue is that portions are generous which makes it hard not to overeat. The fresh pita breads are the best we've eaten and shouldn't be missed. It has now become a must visit whenever we're in Newcastle. This is a bring your own alcohol establishment and cash only. There's a cash point accross the road. Highly recommended.Thank you for taking the time and effort to write a review on our TripAdvisor account, we are glad that you enjoyed your meal and we hope to see you very soon , beirut lounge Newcastle management .

Salash is perfect for those who are looking for traditional, freshly, lovingly prepared Turkish food. We use a charcoal grill to cook traditional Turkish dishes from recipes used in the South East Anatolia region of Turkey.
Nestled amongst the many restaurants on the popular Ocean Road is the Salash. This was my first visit during restaurant week. We opted for the £7.95 menu. The food is amazing all washed down with efess beer. Lovely atmosphere with great service . Will be back

We had not booked but popped in here on Bank Holiday Sunday. It is a very spacious restaurant. We were shown to a table quickly and provided with menus. Our order was taken promptly and the main arrived equally quickly and all (4) agreed that they were very good. Decided to have a dessert, what a Menu!!!, There must have been nearly 20 to choose from. I changed my mind several time. Then they arrived they too were disgusting (ly) delicious.Great food great service great prices. What more do you want?

Ristorante Bravi is a stylish modern restaurant in South Shields, near to the town centre, serving excellent Italian cuisine. Special lunch menu, early evening and A La Carte menu available. Near to Metro and Ferry terminals.
We originally booked a table for two and ended up changing it to a table of 5 or more than happy to accommodate. We ate here on a Friday night, the food was of good variety and excellent quality.Would definitely recommend to eat here is looking for a nice Italian meal.
