The location is fantastic. The food is good, simple and honest home cooked fayre. The value for money is excellent. A very nice place.

........ but in this restaurant you do !!!!!! Food very well presented but very bad !!! Asparagus out from a can, a mille-feuille that was in reality a piece of bread with something on top that I still do not know what it was (it was supposed to be mushrooms....). A red wine served at 10 degree temperature..... and so on ..... The place is a nice ambiance but the kitchen has really to change dramatically !!!

The apartments here are great and the receptionists very welcoming, but making a booking in my limited Spanish for this restaurant proved impossible! The waiter/bartender insisted he could not get us a table before 9:30pm. When we were sitting having a drink from 8:30 and there was only one table occupied, I asked to see the menu and he said we could not dine as we had no reservation!!!! I had watched him write the reservation in his book only 4 hours earlier! But when the receptionist asked him about it in perfect Spanish he denied any knowledge of anything being written in the book! Really odd and very frustrating. When the hotel reception insisted that he gave us a table immediately, he did so. However, when he then produced the complex menu and had no English version (bearing in mind that all guest information at the hotel is written in several languages) I actually thought he was taking the mIcky! Sadly, by the time I had translated the menu I realised that, if he could deny the fact that I had made a reservation, what confidence could we have with him taking a food order? Horrible experience with this man which left us 20 mins from the centre of town at 9:45pm after a long days motorcycling across the mountains! Luckily the helpful receptionist booked us a local taxi and Alfonso took us to the most fantastic little rustic Pizzeria in town. I should point out that my very limited Spanish has got us through two weeks of eating and drinking and staying at a different location every night and this is my first bad experience, and hopefully the last!Dear Susieetal,We believe that there has been a misunderstanding, our waiter, unfortunately, donât speak English and he tried to explain as best as he could that your table was ready at 9:30, as you had bokked before. we think that you didnât understand each other, after this, when you were sitting on the table, he tried to translate the menu through a mobile app, but unfortunately you decided to leave. We want to apologize for donât have menu in English and we want to inform you that from yesterday we have English menu available for our foreign customers. I want to apologize for the problems that this has cause to you, and we want to inform you that this waiter will not be able to work with us anymore in the future, sincerely,

The owner of the B&B where we stayed sent us to La Cadiera with very specific instructions. 1. We MUST eat in the bar side, not the restaurant side so that we could sit at one of the tables that fold down from the wall. One sits in a bench and the table is at the side. 2. We must order Vino Claro con Sidra (wine with cider). Sounds strange, but it was great and refreshing. 3. Order Ensalada Caxico, Salmorrejos, Ajoarriero, and Pastel Chaques for posture. We ordered one plate of each and shared. Soooo delicious! Loved the experience of new foods and the informality of the bar versus a dining room. La Cadiera is located not far from the Cathedral and is easy to find.

Well, if there's something like a nurturing nest for gastronomy, that is this place, the staff knows very well what they offer, they care for details whilst not forgetting what really matters, a gastronomic experience. It is certainly worth a visit. This establishment focuses on the dish and the service primarily, which are the strongest foundations for a successful restaurant. They do care.

Fabulous presentation and flavour. Lovely atmosphere. Saltiness of the tomato mozzarella salad with anchovies and capers perfect. Patatas Bravas creamy and spicy. A great place to stop.

Apparently owned by the tapas bar next door and using the same kitchen, this is the quieter "sit down" place to enjoy some great tapas and nice wines. They have medium and large portions of the tapas and have some other full dish's too, we had 5 medium ones to share and were stuffed. 2 or 3 glasses of wine and it all came to about 40 euros, probably not so cheap as next door but good value, and the octopus was exceptional.

Great food, great ambiance, delicious mountain kind of food. Very impressed by the Chuleton de vaca rubia, some sort of blond cow steak. Home made desserts are to die for. We will be back...too bad is too far from Miami.
