The menu looked good but the food tastes horrible. Heavy cream on everything, severe lack of authentic flavors, questionable pairings of ingredients (cream and pesto? Who does that??) And also quite expensive especially for what it offered. The wine was the only savior.

Verrassend puur, hartverwarmend authentiek! Met cinemac
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, excellent job! The food was good and prices reasonable. The setting is also nice. No negative remarks, good place for a medium priced dinner!

We ate at two consecutive nights at this restaurant which is very popular and making a reservation is advised. First night we had pizza which had a decent size with generous toppings.Second night we had ravioli which was simply delicious. Staff is friendly and prompt.

I was brought here by friends who regularly attend this restaurant and i can sew why !! It was in the most beautiful setting . We sat outside beside the most beautiful sculpture. The decor both inside and out was picturesque. The food and cocktails as i pictured was full of flavour and so reasonably priced. My friends indulged (apparently the best in belgium). I will be back in belgium in october and will most certainly be returning to this restaurant xx

Boulebaar is a charming restaurant in the city center of Hasselt. The restaurant is located in an old mansion, which gives it a warm and welcoming vibe. Lots of original elements of the house (the stucco ceilings and the fireplace) have been preserved. Boulebaar's owners are a young couple who exude enthusiasm. For lunch you can have toast, soup, eggs benedict, a brioche or even laksa, but from 15h on the food sharing concept takes over. From then on you can order different small dishes to share with your companions. I am really a big fan of the food sharing concept, since it offers you an opportunity to try more dishes. My friend and I started off our meal with a lovely cocktail of cava and elderflower sirup. We got served some free popcorn with that. We continued our meal with some pulled pork nachos, a portion so big that my friend and I almost considered not ordering anything else. That would have been a real shame though, since the bites on the menu all sounded lovely. We tried the laksa, the steamed buns with pork belly and the pumpkin with bacon. The laksa was excellent and really reminded me of my stay in Malaysia. The steam buns were a bit underwhelming: the buns weren't soft enough and the filling was a bit bland, but the pumpkin with bacon was a real winner: what a tasty combination! We had to restrain ourselves from ordering a second round. After all that, our stomachs were too full to have dessert. We'll have to come back for that some other time. ;-) Great place with some really interesting bites from all over the world on the menu.

Portuguese food is not the most refined nor the most innovative. But if youâre looking for a well cooked plain meal with a reminiscence of your holidays this is a good place to eat. Friendly service, outdoor eating weather permitting, nice white & red house wine at â¬17/bottle.

L'aperi Vino offers on Thursday, Friday and Saturday free stuzzichini (small bites) with the aperitif, starting 17.00 during 2 hours (i.e. till 19.00) - see the website. In reality this is a frustrating offering: if you arrive at 18.15, order a nice wine which is being served > 10 minutes later and then try to find some stuzzichini, you will notice that nothing is offered anymore! The alternative is to (1) then order something from the menu which will be served when you have finished your aperitif ⦠or to (2) eat chips with red wine ⦠Several friends are also frustrated on this issue - I would suggest therefor to reevaluate this concept (and of course to align the website with the reality). Why not just offering a small plate of stuzzichini at x â¬/ person. This will avoid that customers get frustrated because they come to take an Italian style aperitif at 18.15 but can only have chips (which, as a wine bar will know, can be combined with certain sparkling wines, but not at all with a nice glass of red wine). The 2 stars is a score for the Italian aperitif offering. The whole concept of L'aperi Vino deserves a 3-4 star rating - see my earlier rating.

A good Greek restaurant, not that far from the main shopping street. Itâs preferable to book the table in advance, but you can try your luck by walking in without reservation. The restaurant has a great atmosphere; cosy, family oriented, warm. The food didnât only look good but were also delicious. The dishes passing by to other tables made us drool a little. Fortunately we didnât order any appetizer, otherwise we couldnât finish our mains. A plus was that before and after the meal, they served a cup of soup and a glass of sweet alcohol respectively, free of charge (?). In terms of price, itâs standard price for eating out at any other restaurant. Weâll definitely return with more people, so we can try other dishes.
