Ancestral Gastronomic Tradition. Restaurant La Venta de Benifato, since 1910. 4th Generation.
We found this restaurant a few days before by accident near Guadalest. We were so impressed by the wine list we immediately booked for lunch. It was a Sunday so just as well we booked as the restaurant was packed full of Spanish families. They offer a Menu del dia and also a a la carte menu. They also have a large bbq on the outside terrace. On offer was rabbit, pork chops, beef and lamb chops and also fresh fish all grilled on the bbq. There was a large choice of starters like steamed mussels, Espencat (grilled slices of peppers and aubergines marinated in garlic and olive oil), Spanish mountain sausages, home made soup, patatas bravas. Main course was mainly meat dishes but they also had swordfish, assorted fresh grilled local fish, and bacalao (cod). It was all very delicious and helped down by a few very nice glasses of the house red. The wine selection is amazing, most of the wine seemed to come from the Galicia region. The location is great, a proper Spanish restaurant in the mountains.Eribaz thank you very much for taking the time to write such a detailed and good opinion about our restaurant. We were glad that your experience has been satisfactory. We hope to see you soon. Thank you very much

Just top of the bill. Food is superb. Service excellent. We came here on recommendation by my parents and drove from Moraira to Castell de Castells. It is a small search in the small village to find the iron door entrance. Absolutely worth to drive a while to have a wonderful lunch or diner.

We visited Guadalest and came across this establishment by accident. So glad we did. Authentic flamenco performed with passion accompanied by really good tapas and at at reasonable price for a tourist type town. Recommended.

I have been going to Ponsoda for over 20 years and it never fails to impress. The view has always been fantastic, however the view is even better with the addition of the glass to stop the wind. Now a fantastic view with no wind, overlooking the valley, can't beat it! The alioli is amazing with a good kick. We had the mixed paella, which was lovely. The waiter is always really attentive. Try the limited edition Cider, it's like champagne and beats Aspall, which has to say something! We used to go with our friend Chris who lived in Bollula. Unfortunately he recently passed away, so Ponsoda was the only choice to raise a glass and create fantastic memories we will treasure forever. Well done and keep up the good work, see you soon x

Staying at a local adults only hotel nearby last night, we didnât fancy the hotels set menu so decided to take the 2 minute wander down to the local village to eat there, Googled restaurants near me & found this one. Beautiful old rustic building, greeted by a friendly waiter, asked for a table for 2, given a choice of 3 tables, we choose & were then seated, quickly took our drinks order...bottle of house white...the menu was in Spanish, we couldnât understand some dishes, he took the time to tell us every single starter and main in English, we choose a deep fried Brie starter for 2, then steak and chicken for the main course, whilst eating our beautiful more than enough for 2 starter I saw the chef take uncooked steak outside! Decided to go & investigate...amazing, she made a fire out of logs and cooked my steak on that to perfection, brilliant little twist cooking the steak outside on logs, I found that very entertaining, & when we got the bill...free shot & mints, starter for 2, bottle of wine, chicken & steak with trimmings â¬39.00 100% will be coming back here again. Thanks for your visit, we're glad you liked the place, the food and the staff, hope see you soon.

Iâll be honest: This place looks a lot like a tourist trap with cheep outdoor furnitures etc... and only dragged the family in as it was highly rated in TA. And rightly so! Food options were many, and despite the glossy menu, it all tasted really good! It was a Monday lunch and the place was half full. Service was ok. Not great, not poorPrice is really good considering the location. If you like pizza, try the pan-pizza variation in the back of the menu. And do try out the desserts. Will be back

We dined on Saturday night to be told the menu being offered was just tapas. The food was amazing and kept coming! Freshest of ingredients, beautiful prawns and was so typically Spanish in a pretty restaurant with a great atmosphere. We had no idea of the cost and were delighted to have a bill of 45 euros between two including a beer and 3 glasses of cava. So worth a visit.

We have been to this restaurant for Sunday lunch twice and the food is good quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a beautiful view over the hills next to Guadalest.

We visited Venta la Montana in the afternoon recently after a visit to Guadalest. The reason we choose it was because of the reviews and the fact that we wanted something traditionally Spanish.Wow what a great meal it was. The local Sausages were really tasty as a starter and the Rabbit Paella (2 persons) was full of flavour and was a generous portion. The House Red and White Wine went down well and the service was excellent. All in all a memorable experience.
