Reviews on Mediterranean food in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany. South of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the Austrian border lies Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, rising nearly 10,000 feet and offering gorgeous glacier-top skiing. The towns of Garmisch and Partenkirchen used to be separate, but were merged for the 1936 Winter Olympics. With almost 75 miles of downhill runs of all difficulty levels, Zugspitze also has 68 miles of cross-country trails, a terrain park and Germany's first superpipe. It's super cool to say you were skiing in Garmisch, so be sure to spread the word upon your return.

Surrounded by all German local establishments with a few Italian sprinkled in, is a little tavern in traditional German looks from outside/inside. Food was great and plentiful, service is what you would expect in a small family operation. Certainly best Greek food in the city!

We visited this restaurant from across the road at Reindls hotel and it was well worth it. Between 6 of us, we ordered the starter plates for 2 people (one hot and one cold) and a round of garlic bread. The sharing plates were excellent, although there was much debate about the sharing of the stuffed vine leaves! Sadly, having suffered the fairly meagre servincgs offered to our tour group in the hotel, we had forgotten just how large they were in a normal German restaurant and had initially placed orders for a main entree each. These covered 6 selections and no-one managed to clear their plate, such was the quantity. That said, nothing was lost in taste and we all commented on how good was the quality of our own selection. throughout, our waiter was very attentive and ensured we each received a couple of glasses of ouzo, gratis. The E; Greco will be on our list to revisit if we return to G-P.

Very good people human and open for questions and suggestions. Asking for feedback and improvements. The tables on the walkway was not a problem as it is fun watching people in and outside the restaurant walking by. The train can be a bit noisy but only for a moment. Food was very good and light, pasta or dumplings. It was so good I had to eat two evenings in a row, and as I was climbing up the Zugspitze, I asked for a BIG "Männer" portion of pasta and got it, just right to close such a heroic day!!! Thanks team well done!

Tapas - Restaurant - Bar
My husband and I sat at the bar.The bartender was very attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the dates with bacon, pimientos (green peppers just like we had in Spain), bruschetta, shrimp and a few other tapas items. Everything we ate and drank was delicious and priced fairly.

Weâd spent the day enjoying the mountains and the slopes and hadnât really thought ahead to where we would eat dinner. Renzo's was a special and unexpected treat, it was cosy and warm; the air rich with garlic and fresh out of the oven pizza. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table and it was absolutely worth the wait. The service was cheerful, welcoming and food delicious and not to heavy on the pocket. proper not too fancy Italian dining. A big happy grin recommend from us.

In the mood for a quiet romantic Italian dinner for 2 after a day of hiking, we chose Puoro. It proved to be a winner for many reasons: very classy decor, understated elegance, quiet mellow vibe, low key but attentive service, nice wine selection and great menu. As a serious lasagna addict who's tasted and compared all over the world, I will say that Puoro's lasagna is among the best I've had. Just a couple hiccups made this wonderful evening just shy of perfect: my partner has some dietary restrictions and carefully chose an entree that was a good fit, tagliatelle with mushrooms. Oops, "sorry, we don't have that", says our server. Back to the menu for a few minutes of further examination, server stops by again, new order is gnocchi. "Sorry, we don't have that....those are the only 2 things we don't have". Gentle suggestion: work the "we don't have's" into your brief remarks when bringing the menus, to avoid disappointment. My partner's 3rd choice was mozzarella vegetable calzone which could have benefited from some seasoning. Our finale of tiramisu was perfect.

This is by far the best Italian in and around Garmisch. Itâs cozy, small, seats inside and outside and really unique decoration. You actually feel like in Italy. You have to bring a bit of time. Iâve been there now three times and there always just one waitress and itâs always busy. So it might take a while until you can place an order but they are very charming and itâs not negative. As soon as you placed your order everything goes smoothly.Food is amazing. We had pasta and pizza and oh my gosh try that onion soup!!!!!

Sat down, someone cleaned the table but left the dirty ashtray, then eventually returned with a menu. The wait wasnât over though as taking the order was also super slow. Drinks arrived and then the pizzaâs in a decent time. However the staff then disappeared for ages. Food eaten, drinks finished and no sign of staff. Eventually someone appeared to remove the plates. The pizza was good and the Ayinger beer a nice alternative in the area. It is a restaurant though, no drinking without eating appeared to be possible.
