Reviews on Mediterranean food in Fribourg, Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland. Fribourg (French pronunciation: [fʁibuʁ]; Arpitan: Fribôrg or Friboua, pronounced [fʁibwa] ( listen)) or Freiburg (German, or Freiburg im Üechtland, Swiss German pronunciation: [ˈfrib̥ʊrɡ]; Italian: Friborgo or Friburgo; Romansh: Friburg) is the capital of the Swiss canton of Fribourg and the district La Sarine. It is located on both sides of the river Saane/Sarine, on the Swiss Plateau, and is a major economic, administrative and educational center on the cultural border between German and French Switzerland (Romandy). Its Old City, one of the best-maintained in Switzerland, sits on a small rocky hill above the valley of the Sarine.

Am in Switzerland (Fribourg and Zurich) for a week so decided to have Italian, saw the reviews on trip advisor and walked from my hotel, a pleasant walk when it is semi cloudy and around 15 C. The place have very nice atmosphere and is pleasantly decorated and lit. Servers are polite and efficient. They brought it a very good bread with a chili oil dip (its IS HOT) very nice. After I ordered a rocca salad and a quatro formagi pizza they brought some kind of fried batter poppers that I didn't care much for. The salad was made from 2 ingredients: fresh baby rocca and generous shavings of parmigiano cheese, beware they serve it without dressing but they automatically bring balsamic, oil and pepper, so prepare your own and enjoy a fresh delicious salad. Then came the Pizza, they sort of wait till you finish the salad which is great because you get a freshly baked pizza. When it came it was mouth watering steaming and smelling like a fondue, it even tasted like one as they use Gruyere & Emental in addition to the Gorgonzola and mozzarella, in other words a perfect fusion between Swiss and Italian flavors.. The "small" pizza is quiet large and is perfect for sharing by 2 or more if you opt for mix and share which I highly recommend in this restaurant. There was no room for dessert or coffee though they do have ice cream gelato style that looks very inviting (display freezer on the way in). Would love to try their pasta I I have another return to Fribourg.

This is a Turkish-themed restaurant in the middle of the old quarter of Fribourg. There was no wine list (we had to ask - although the recommended Lebanese wine was excellent) so no idea of extent or cost and no sign of a dessert menu. The mezzes were hastily prepared (even the 'Vizier' option with grilled meat was served within five minutes of ordering). The restaurant was quite busy (Friday night locals), so can't be that poor although the waiter also seemed to be the owner and was rather preoccupied. We had to ask for coffee - it wasn't offered. At the end of the meal it turned out that the wine (5 dl) cost more than the mezzes. Given the cost, I was surprised that the restaurant didn't accept payment by credit/debit card either - particularly as the website I referred to beforehand said it did (fortunately I just had enough CHF). In fairness there were no Mastercard or Visa stickers on the door - although there wasn't a menu there either - which you might expect from a restaurant.

French bistronomy by chef Franck Chouette. Le Beausite is a historic restaurant with early 20th century architecture.
Very refreshing to be welcomed by people who are happy to work. Have been visiting a friend in Fribourg and discovered this unique place where food was simply delicious. Had a drink at the lounge located in the balcony before our dinner, the view on the place was superb from upstairs with a very creative barman. Try the fish backed in salt crust!Thank you very much for your review. Looking forward to welcoming you again.

Wonderful Moroccan food, authentic flavors on offer in lovely settings, the staff make your visit to the old town and their wonderful restaurant well worth the trip. From the outside it looks like your typical old town Swiss restaurant, but on the inside the differences begin to set this place apart immediately.Everything on the menu is worth a try so dont be worried about what you choose. I f you still cant make abchoice then opt for the Mezze where you can choose from 3 up to 12 dishes of your choice! Staff are friendly which makes your dining experience even more memorable. We went out with friends and stayed til almost closing and we'll be back soon for sure.

We loved our meals at Capricciosa. I always go for the pesto dishes. Theirs was wonderful. My partner had Spaghetti Bolognese one night and Carbonara the 2nd night. Service was friendly and dedicated. They also had great coffee and tasty desserts; I recommend the tiramisu.

This gorgeous, medieval building located in the old city of Fribourg overlooking river Sarine has finally re-opened! After over 18 months, this restaurant, with a unique interior, has finally found the new owner! Last night we went for a drink and some snacks Cardinal X-mas beer was just perfect in the festive atmosphere. The menu is international and it also features Moroccan cuisine! Prices are fair and the staff super friendly!

As soon as you enter into this restaurant you know you've made the right choice. The owner and manager tries to bring a little bit of Lebanon to Fribourg, which includes not just the great tasting food, the service (with a smile) but also some sincerity in ensuring you really are enjoying your food and your dining experience. We came with our small child and were happily surprised just how accommodating and attentive they were to our needs. The mezze is to die for! As is the Falafel. Between Bekaa and Les Delices Libanais I am really spoiled for choice. Both offer authentic Lebanese dining but in different styles. Try both and you decide!Bekaa reminds me of great Lebanese eating places in Sydney where the owner really is happy to see you and does his best to win your repeat visit. Try it for drinks and dinner with friends or a quiet evening with your wife, you wont be disappointed!

A business dinner with colleagues can be made or broken by a restaurantâs experience. The meal at Bindella was the one element that added value to an otherwise jejune business dinner with platitudinous and obsequious colleagues. The fried calamari dish was well done and crispy. The beef carpaccio with black truffle shavings really tasty. One is to commend the waiters for excellent service and pleasant handling. Will come back. Merci!Dear Mishapiano,What a wonderful review for us to read, thank you so much! It's great to hear you had such an excellent dinner at Ristorante Bindella Fribourg and were so satisfied with our service and our authentic Italian cuisine. Our goal is to offer our guests a perfect experience from the service to food.We are very glad you and your colleagues enjoyed the time at our restaurant in the heart of Fribourg's old town and we are already looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Hopefully, we will be seeing you soon.la vita è bella - Adrian & Ristorante-Bindella-Team
