So obviously trading on their Michelin star. There was no service to speak of apart from taking the order.. No follow up from the waiters, did we like it, was all OK,!!! AND a lot of money for such tiny portions. 20 euro for 4 small scallops and some cauliflower purée - total rip off!Hello Mr Jackson,Thank you so much for your visit and comment. First of all we don't have any Michelin Star, we have a special recomendation called Bib Gourmand, but because the stars are more popular, people wrongly say that we(as another restaurants) have a Star.Sorry for the not meeting your expectations. We hope will be better next time!Best Regards,

We came here with our 4 children for dinner. The service was really friendly and they were very helpful. The menu was local organic produce and beautifully presented. The salmon and figs and pork cheeks in red wine were particularly good. The wine we went with was recommended by our server and a great choice. All in all I would thoroughly recommend.

Bistro Barao is a charming, cozy restaurant with only five tables serving about 10 people. Reservations recommended as the owner staggers seating guests in order to greet and serve them. We shared delicious roasted lamb which the owner carefully spooned onto our plates. I felt like my grandfather was serving us at a family meal. We also had the garlic shrimp which was delicious. The tiled walls of the restaurant were covered with accolades of previous diners who also enjoyed this restaurant.

On an October Saturday evening, my wife and I practically had this tiny, unassuming gem of a restaurant â which during the high season can demand long waits â to ourselves. And what a treat, with wonderfully rustic Portuguese fare enjoyed in the cool autumn air by a centuries-old Roman aqueduct. Be sure to order the mushrooms and the pork cheeks.

Nice ambience in what feels like a family-run restaurant. For starters we had the tuna pate, the black pig blood sausage and the olives. The sausage is really good. For mains we shared two pork dishes: the casserole with chestnuts and the black pork fried steak. Both great with chestnut dish winning between the two. Decent bottle of wine and with dessert, all very good value.

Made reservations and were confirmed by email in August and again the day of the reservation. 13 guests arrived. Owner welcomes us, thanked us, and said we would be treated like family. Handed out menus. Some other guests came in and suddenly he forgot we had a reservation and told us that he would not serve us and kicked us out. Restaurant was very small and overly warm. We left and went elsewhere. Spent 100âs and 100âs of euros elsewhere. Much food and wine. We were very happy with our food and service. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather and the initiation of the freshmen of the university. THANKS FOR KICKING US OUT!First of all I never accepted reservations by Facebook because that is not the official account. That account is manegemenging by a relative of my which never give me the feedback. My official account is on the TRIPADVISOR or on my website page on Google Business.I am a very hard worker man and I treat every customer like my best friend. Ivm not rude. I explained to you but you didn't believe me. Like you said "I'll be made a bad reviews about you on your TripAdvisor page" and you did it, so know you are Happy for sure, because your 'revenge' is complete and you didn't spoke with me before. It's the human nature.. For THOSE WHO ARE READING THIS REVIEW, NEVER MAKE RESERVATIONS BY FACEBOOK.

It's a very cozy restaurant with a different type of concept. We serve traditional food with our very own modern twist. It's advised to share one of our starters board and then one of our main courses (1 person) for each two. Hope you enjoy your meal!
Tabua & Barro Do Noldo is a good restaurant that for us provided a disappointing customer experience. Somewhat unique at Tabua, the food is served on wood boards which my wife and I shared. After a brief introduction, the waiter explained how dinning typically occurs, a shared appetizer platter and a shared main entree as portions are quite large. He did not provide us with any menu and then plied is with two higher priced glasses of wine that together cost more than fine bottles we had in other quality restaurants in Portugal. Although the waiter sought out our food preferences, he failed to explain that the vast majority of the appetizers were deep fried (not really what we expected or preferred). For dinner we had two exceptional dishes, one a thick cut tuna with a light cream sauce and the other cod with migos, an incredible clam flavored bread and shrimp stuffing. Here again the pricing on the smaller portions wasnât explained and was an unwelcome surprise. Tabua could be an exceptional restaurant but needs to temper its somewhat pushy wait staff. The restaurant staff should be more respectful to all, even apparent tourists, and fully disclose the dinning options and pricing before pouring a glass of high priced wine or recommending a smaller but comparably priced entree. You can enjoy a meal at Tabua, but to avoid surprises be inquisitive and ask for options and prices.

O serão, o pitéu e a pinga! / The evening, the tapas and the drinks! The place to experience good food (traditional and not) and good wine (from north to south of Portugal) Reservas apenas online. Online reservations only.
Every dish is wonderful and extremely well priced. We loved it so much we went back again 3 days later. You will experience flavours you have never had before. Iâm not a foodie but this stuff is good. $5-8 euros for most of the share plates. 3 dishes and a bottle of wine about $40 euros. Very reasonable. This guy should be on one of those Master Chef shows. Heâs a genius with food.

Arrive hungry, donât even consider breakfast, have one coffee and a litre of water then prepare yourself for a feast. You MUST book, whilst sitting in the restaurant they turned about 10 people away because they were full. The food just comes at you, no choice, which, sometimes is a blessing, it was all great, it was all unsophisticated but all delicious, the green sludgy looking thing Is not to be missed, amazing, made with Coriander, garlic, bread, vegetables olive oil and a bit of vinegar, the neck of black pork, cooked for 3 hours in wine and herbs fell off the bone and was scrumptious. To start, a compendium of local tastes that include what can only be described as a mini Swiss fondue (I could have eaten just that to be honest). Jao who runs the place is utterly charming and will look after you. This ainât fine dining in the biblical sense but you must go here.
