This year to OSTERIA IL PAPAVERO you can have exciting cooking class! Call or write us, we wait for you!!!
Little to add to the last dozen or so reviewers who loved this charming restaurant; totally agree. Almost gave up hope of finding it, but gritted teeth and kept going; the enticement at the last stage was catching a view of the classic hill village of Barbischio where this jewel is found. I was received by the owner with warmth, despite having no booking. Both the tortellini and the cheesecake were evidence of loving care in the kitchen; freshly prepared, mouthwatering. Hope no one reads the reviews, or there will be no table available if I return without a booking.

We had an amazing meal here last week. There was no menu but dishes just flowed from the kitchen. The anti pasta was a huge eye catching plateful of delicious local delicacies. The secondi was a simple pork dish with seasonal vegetables, washed down with a fabulous bottle of chianti. Sadly we were too full to try any other courses. We would definitely recommend this lovely place to eat.

We celebrated Swedish midsummer's eve here, and had an fantastic evening. Andrea, the chef, is very warm and welcoming, and serves advanced and delicious food and wine to very reasonable prices. Well worth the trip!

We sort of wandered into the place. A little early, probably 7pm, so we were the first ones there. One of our group had been there a couple nights before, just for a drink, but our waiter, Andre, remembered him. Now we are rock stars. The specials were on a chalk board. Three of the five of us ordered one of them, the T-bone, and that was it for that special---erased from the board!. TERRIFIC food and just the local wine, Semboloni. So local that Andre set up a wine tasting, down the street, when we were done, at 9pm!! And really great wine, a white, rose, and red. We bought to ship home. The table next to us seemed to be having just as good a time, and this was their second visit that week. Small place that does it right! Make sure you stop in.

The restaurant's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, while the surrounding garden enhances the overall mood with a touch of romance. During the hotter months meals are served outdoors under a bower of climbing roses and wisteria. Here the gourmet can savour
We spent a delightful afternoon lunching on the terrace of the restaurant at Badia a Coltibuono. The view and ambience canât be beaten. The cuisine was superb, the service excellent and the wine perfect. If you want a true Tuscan/Chianti experience you couldnât do better than this. And very close to Radda. Donât miss the excellent gift shop on the road as you depart the grounds.

I would recommend anyone to visit this family-run gem of a restaurant. The staff are friendly & knowledgeable, the food delicious yet simple and the panoramic view is not to be missed. We stayed very close to the restaurant and popped in for coffee with Michael (the son) every morning. Michael was always are friendly face & we never paid for our coffees! We also had dinner & lunch during our stay. All the dishes were authentic and delicious. We can particularly recommend the beef ragu pasta (generous chunks of meat melted in the mouth), the enormous T-bone Florentine steak (a local speciality) & the delicious deserts. Michael was always on hand to recommend affordable, sumptuous local wines. You won't regret an evening or long lunch spent on the stunning rooftop terrace.

Pasta is really delicious... once you found the restaurant opened :). They have no opening hours written outside and when the restaurant is closed it looks abandoned. We found it opened only by accident. For the locals it is fine but for tourists quite a challenge, moreover as no one around speaks any language but Italian :).

Had dinner at Papposileno during our recent trip. Delicious food and attentive service. We had Papposileno's Panzanella and Fresh Riccota Cheese - preparation and presentation was very innovative and was made from fresh local produce. Same goes with the main course - Gnudi and Riccota/Spincah balls in tomato sauce. Staff spoke good English and was very helpful in explaining the menu and suggesting the wines.
