Have visited Madeira 4 times over a 12 year period and have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Bolo do caco freshly cooked and lapas delicious. Tuna for main served with milho frito cooked traditionally unlike many other restaurants. Passion fruit pudding for dessert was amazing. All topped by exceptional service. Do yourself a favour- if you can only visit one restaurant make it this one.

We inform that we will be closed during the month of MAY for maintenance and expansion of our space. We will reopen in June with great news. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Very good place to grab a plate of tapas to share while sitting on the outside.Chopped scabbard fish for â¬12.00 and a beer were also just fine.Note that this place does not have deserts on the menu. Tapas, toasts, sandwiches, seafood and meat are on offer. They are closed on Mondays and place gets really crowded at 19:00.

Nova Onda - Cantinho dos Petiscos is a restaurant that offers homemade and traditional dishes from Madeira island, with a special touch. It is a good place with friendly people who will be pleased do welcome you. So come visit us!!
Call in for a beer or cold drink or coffee a snack or full meal. The fresh fish caught that day locally, severed with salad and chips with a herb dusting yum yum, the toasty and their own burgers with bacon I loved loved. We took a tuna toasty for the flight home so good. The staff very friendly, most spoke English, sensibly priced food and drink. It has a great local feel about it but not pretentious very relaxed.

What a find (thanks to those who have reviewed it for the hint). Do all you can to visit. Wonderful and very thin crust pizza in a lovely, local place with super staff and away from the tourist trap that is much of Funchal. Dear guestItâs very nice to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your visit, we try to make our restaurant very traditional even for tourists we always treat them in the same manner as our locals. We hope to see you soonPizaria atalaia team

Outside is quite deceptive, you think this a small 3 table place, then you go in and up the stairs to a large dinning area and an outside terrace. Food was very good, as was the selection of wines. Also service was good. Only downside was the size of the room with only a few customers, also can feel a bit cold.

The Abrigo do Pastor Restaurant is located in Estrada das Carreiras (which gives access to Poiso), parish of Camacha, in Madeira Island. Located in the Serra da Camacha, this restaurant is a haven for locals and foreigners, a very typical Madeiran cuisine
First of all, the place is amazing! A rustic building, in the middle of the forest, with the decoration to match. We decided to go for the traditional so we ordered "Açorda Madeirense" and Tomato soup for starters, a "Picadinho" for the main course, and to finish off beautifully, we had a passion fruit pudding and a glass of passion fruit "Poncha". Everything was delicious, which combined with the great service and warm fireplace, made the entire meal a fantastic experience! The soups come in a quite large pot, so unless you are very hungry, two people can share one. The same for the "Picadinho",the serving is enough to feed at least 3 or 4 people.

Comida regional portuguesa
Lovely meal. We shared the Bruschetta for starters which comprised ham and tomatoes with mushrooms and parmesan shavings. For mains we had the mixed meat skewers, they were beef, chicken with pineapple with polenta and salad. For desert I had chocolate mouse with chocolate pieces, my wife had the mixed berry cheesecake. The meal was lovely, well worth a visit. At the end of the meal we were given complimentary Madeira wine.Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your visit and wonderful evaluation. We hope we can get the chance to welcome you again.Best regards,Regional Flavours.
