We return every year to this cozy, wonderful, family-owned restaurant. Located close to the exposition fair, and next door to the Hotel NH Padova, the modern, clean furnishing, the friendly staff, and especially the always fresh fish and seafood entices us to return. While nobody in the restaurant speaks English (or anything other than Italian), they try hard to communicate, and we have always managed to get exactly what we wanted. A complementary Prosecco and Grissini start the meal. The menu changes every day, depending on what the chef finds in the market. There are always a dozen or so seafood-based appetizers and another dozen or so fish and seafood entrees. The wine list only shows about 30-35 wines, but they are all very good, mostly from the region, and well priced. Service is friendly, helpful and efficient. Make reservations because the place is always packed. By 9:00 pm, there is not a table to be had.

Small Family Restaurant
Two great evenings at this authentic family runned restaurant! The little gem itself is a historical place. On the walls, beautiful paintings describing the history of Padova. The family that owns and served us were kind and generous. The beautiful lady that cooked created delicious dishes for us. It was a wonderful restaurant

Service was very good. Food was also very very good. The menu had a good mix of Italian classics (e.g., tagliata di manzo) with regional specialties (e.g., polpo in umido, baccalà , ragù al anatra o faraone) emphasis on the latter. Some creative twists with exceptional presentation. Prices were reasonable. Excellent for business lunches or dinners (though privacy where we were seated might not be best for highly confidential conversations). Great for a nice meal. Truly an upscale trattoria.

Ristorante osteria tipico con cucina casalinga a base di carne alla griglia, antipasti ricercati, primi piatti con pasta fatta in casa e dolci di produzione propria. Piatti per celiaci e vegetariani.
found this place on trip advisor, we're staying nearby. drove the 5 minutes to try it out. glad we did! really tasty. we had pastas and salads. Locals flock here for the grilled meats. The steaks looked phenomenal, though none in our group were on that train tonight. But the food was excellent, the space is very nice, clean, classy, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, being that none in our group speak italian. We made it work. Would return.

First of lets say that the decor of the restaurant did not appeal to me. I thought the food would be cafeteria style and was expecting something very different than what i got. I had to taste difernt plates this where the best plates in order of great to excellent1. Octopus - primer platy2. Brenzino ( not sure if spelled correctly) 3. Risotto mushroom and vegetables 4. Past with huge clam ( don't know exactly what to call it) All four plate amazing. Great desert chocolate platter five different styles of chocolate in small sizes. Great food, absolutely magnificent service. Which as we know in italy is a disaster in most places.

Came to Italy for a week and went around to major cities (Rome, Florence, Venice) and stayed in Padua for 2 nights. Went looking for restaurants, and found this hidden gem very close to our hotel. The food is absolutely amazing! Of course, Italian food is 100x better than American food, but Pizzeria da Vannia has the best pizza ever! The pizzas are cheesy, freshly made, thin, and delicious. Depending on your appetite, one pizza can be eaten alone or shared (I had to share). The staff is very friendly and kind and always working hard. The place is also very busy, which I can understand considering its food is so amazing. It was so good, we went there again for our last night in Italy! What a great way to end our trip.

Been there with my old school mates a couple of days ago.The pizzas were to die for, haven't had a real pizza napoletana as for a while. The place is really cosy welcoming and vibrant as family run. We had a lovely time together with the mates, really looking forward to next time.
