Located by a beach with a restaurant overlooking the sea. Spot light on rock face adds to the charm . Welcoming and efficient service. Restaurant tables not too close. Gastronomique menu and good wine list. Innovative cooking and plates well presented. A lovely meal for 3. I signalled well in advance that one party member was intolerant to Gluten. For the meal a Gluten Free bread roll was offered. However for the apero and coffee minardise no Gluten Free option. We had the impression the Chef was not aware of a client with special dietary needs. Our experience is that Gastronomique retaurants normally have Gluten Free options available. Apart from bread this one did not cope that well.

Une cuisine généreuse où la spécialité reste le poisson et les fruits de mer tout en proposant des grillades, charcuteries, tapas et viandes du pays catalan de grande qualité. Le restaurant a une salle intérieure climatisée et une grande terrasse avec vue
What a great restaurant......very welcoming with us having three under 3s too. Superb set price menu, drinks and perfect service. We will be going again soon! Thank you for a lovely Sunday evening finishing with a brilliant Latin American band in the performance square.....we stayed with our table all night too......absolutely fantastic!

We have been to Xadic for several years - have to book in the high season. He is a committed and original chef and the food is distinctly "catalan". Lots of excellent seafood or meat dishes, all looking supremely edible and vibrant. The accompanying wines are chosen with care. A great place to have lunch or dinner.

Had lunch here on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews, nice staff nice place under a tree on a v hot day. Food just ok, not what French food should be. Salad straight from the supermarket and frozen fish. Plenty of similar or better places in the square.

Visited on the Fete Nacionale with my family. 2 menus of 17E and 19E. Pitchers of wine for a few euros. Excellent local Catalan cooking. Gazpacho, sardines, Escargot all fantastic.I guess if there was a complaint, since it was the holidays they were not making Paella. Was fantastic to talk to the waiter about all the pictures of his father playing Rugby. A real family business

We enjoyed multiple delicious meals here. Our table was next to the windows with the magnificent view overlooking the Mediterranean.

Not long returned from a fortnight at Banyuls. We visiteda lot of restaurants. La Quintessence was the best. The restaurant is small. Fortunately the weather was good and tables were set outside. We ate here twice and it was full both times. Limited menu but really excellent food with unusual combinations. Don't have cold feet about them because they really work. Good wines from the area to enhance your meal.
