We stopped here on the way down south for breakfast and we were not disappointed! The toast with tomato and ham was amazing as was the toast with butter and jam! Staff was very friendly and generally it was a really nice place.
Calidad/precio bien.Recomendado al 100%.

I've been going here for a few months. It's got a great location, with large windows and plenty of sun. The staff is quite friendly, and are helpful even when we speak in broken Spanish. They always have a mix of different tapas to give with your drink.

Typical domestic food, roasts of Extremaduran meats and an exquisite cod. Familiar treatment.
My husband and I were recommended this restaurant by a friend from this town. He said it was a reference with the locals. We learned why! AgustÃn has fresh and delicious food, and wine from the region (and town) that is exquisite! The grilled vegetables, the blood sausage (morcilla) with egg, the Iberian ham, and the grilled lamb were all wonderful. The service was quick and friendly. We certainly will return.

With the help of TripAdvisor contributors, we've started looking for good small restaurants in towns and villages just off the motorway, rather than soulless industrial roadside ones. Taberna El Fogón de Rafael, to give it its full name, is a gem. We stopped here after a 3 hour+ drive from Madrid en route to Rio Tinto and Costa Ballena. The set menu at 10 euro offers lots of choice and everything sounds appetising. We went for a cold ´salmorejo' tomato soup with all the trimmings and slices of grilled aubergine with a topping of 'salmorejo', chopped cured ham and hard-boiled egg. For the main course, we chose a pork fillet grilled with mixed herbs and a local 'cocido extremeño' where everything comes together in one plate (unlike it´s Castilian counterpart). It was excellent-creative-value for money. The restaurant is small with space for some 25. It was almost empty when we arrived at around 14.30 but filled up quickly, so it´s worth phoning ahead.to make sure.

This place is next to the hotel where we stayed for a night. Very friendly welcome and good recommendations of the dishes. The beer âMarwanâ was great and the local wine which was recommended was not good. But the dishes were delicious. In the end they served a local cava on the house which was not good. In our opinion prices were a bit high for this town. Iâd say we had a good time but with a mixed feelings.
