We went here twice in the same week. Lovely menu (mainly fish) at reasonable prices. Good wine list - prices OK. Excellent service. Pleasant decor. A bit quiet, but we were 'out of season'. Pizzeria appeared to be used by locals - usually a good sign!

The Restaurant "La Polena" is located in a privileged geographical position, surrounded by the lush vegetation of the Sicilian gardens, a few steps from the sea of Acitrezza, but almost on a hillside with superb views of Etna. There are many reasons to co
As a local living abroad I never fail to visit La Polena with my family and my wife whenever I'm back. The owner Sebastiano is a great Sicilian chef who has spent time in Japan and has created an awesome menu of Sicilian delicacies infused with oriental touches, making dining at La Polena a delightful culinary experience. Last night we went again for our wedding anniversary and again the staff at La Polena made it a very special one. Special thanks to Sebastiano who took care of our table with very attentive service, surprising us with complimentary prosecco, anniversary cake and a majestic boat of Sicilian sashimi to die for! We will always keep coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to indulge in great Sicilian food and wine at very reasonable price.

We were in Dal Barone twice during our stay and it was always great. We had several seafood starters to share and each one was excellent. The risotti and rhe spaghetti did mare were tasty. Just the spaghetti with sepia ink did not meet my taste, but this was me ordering the wrong dish. From the secondi piati we had the grilled sword fish which was outstanding. If you have room left, try the deserts. They are definitely worth it.

We discovered the restaurant by chance wandering around Acireale not really hoping to find anything decent open on a Sunday afternoon, and what a surprise we were in for! This place truly felt like eating Sunday lunch at home with our family, everyone was extremely easy going and friendly. Before eating, we were fortunate to get a quick tour of the celebrity photos of famous people that were there before us and the long tradition that the place boasts. And having now eaten there, I understand why this family run place is still there after 40 years - itâs simple, unpretentious, yet it rises to the touristsâ and localsâ expectations of a delicious Sicilian meal packed with local flavours. We had a couple of fish and seafood dishes, which were delicious, but the vegetables antipasti bar was equally worth a taste! We loved it and will definitely return next time we are in Sicily!

Four of us and one dog dropped in for dinner. What a great night! Food was excellent and we drank the local wine all night. Don't take our word for it .. live à little and enjoy the food. The entertaining owner is a side benefit.

The food here was fairly simple, typically Sicillian and very tasty. Despite the fact that we did not speak Italian and the waiter did not speak English, we managed to have a very good meal.We were made very welcome here. This is a great little restaurant and I would certainly go back again.Recommended!

Friendly service and absolutely amazing, fantastic food creations! In over a year of trying different Tavola calda places in Sicily this is my absolutely favorite. High quality ingredients with nice little twists to make a 'simple' snack a real experience for your taste buds. I just wanted to keep on trying and tasting new ones.Loved it and I am forcing my friends to take me there every time that I am back in Sicily. Would recommend it to every one!
