This is quite simply a wonderful day trip with buckets of variety and lots of memorable surprises. Currently you have to buy your tickets at least a day in advance ( we did it at the ferry terminal at Boveno) and then travel from Boveno to Domodosola by bus. But after that the trip just got better and better. We started at Boveno at 8.10am and finished back there at 7pm which is great value for around 50 Euros. We used our hour in Domodosola to look at the gorgeous historic square and enjoy the well signed history trail before jumping on the lovely narrow gauge train through the mountains. We stopped off for a look around in Santa Maria Maggiore - the Church was worth the stopover alone, but the small town was the busiest we experienced in our whole 12 days trip. (BTW come out of the station, turn left, and then go right when you come to the road - the directions weren't great or indeed obvious) There was also time for good lunch before jumping back on the train for another hour to Locarno in Switzerland. It wasn't the nicest of towns/ cities, but then the ferry back to Boveno was just wonderful, enjoying the sights and sounds of the lake for three hours. This is just a magnificent and value for money trip.

Bellagio Express train. The tour take 25 minutes panoramic view of Bellagio. Our journey begins through Bellagio’s municipal park, a place full of flowers and trees. Immediately after the park on the right side we can see the Gotich Villa, built in the late XIX. A little further on is the Hotel Belvedere, where there is a request stop. Passing the hotel on our left there is the garden of Villa Giulia with a vast olive grove, still used for the production of local olive oil. Then we go up to the panoramic views of Bellagio and Como Lake. We continue along this avenue to Loppia, we’re we can see the last example of Larian Gondola and the entry of Villa Melzi Garden. You can also find a request stop. A little further on, if you look up to the left, there is Santa Maria church, built in the late X. Now we turn right to reach San Giovanni, there is a museum of Navigational Instruments. There is a request stop also non San Giovanni. Then we return back to the center of Bellagio
