Munich, if you've been once or twice then Prien am Chiemsee is a great 1 day trip if you're looking for things to do outside of Munich. The train ride itself is fun and the boat trip over can be confusing as there are a couple of islands and you can go to the largest one that has most everything. Funny story: don't ask for

our journey from Munich international airport to the Hampton by Hilton city west hotel by S Baun subway system, it cost us 24 euro for that all day ticket for up to six people. Follow the directions on the attached photo copy, then exit the subway station up to street level , turn left and the hotel is in front of you. The trains are clean and busy but easy to use, just keep an eye on the monitor saying what stop is the next one. It also says it in English. A 12.80 euro all day ticket for 6 people takes you anywhere on the white zone on the route map Make sure that you validate your ticket when you buy it from the machine. A single journey one way ticket from our hotel at Donnersbergerbrucke to Munich airport cost 11.60 Euro for the outside the main city zone on the S Baun light rail. The journey took about 45 minutes.

Wonderful journey by tram up the Kirnitsch valley. There are hotels and restaurants at the end and it is an excellent jumping off point for walks, especially to the Kuhstall.
