Our family will be starting our 3rd boating season summer at Sugarloaf and we love it. The slips and docks are in excellent shape; the washrooms, showers and other areas are very clean and up to date. All staff members are very friendly and helpful. Surrounding the marina in a a beautiful park with fantastic views of Lake Erie and its only a short walk or drive to the historic downtown shopping and dining are of Port Colborne. During the summer months there are plenty of activities to see such as the annual Canal Days which includes 100's of vendors, exhibits and live entertainment. You can tour the tour Tall Ships and watch the Sugarloaf Sailing Club fleet sail on Lake Erie or watch other boats traverse up the canal.

Any place or structure that helps mother nature do her thing is great. This place is one of the last places around to see trout jumping to spawn. In April/May you can even help them tag and count fish. The setting has limited parking, so stop off at the general store/pub and order a pizza, which is very good. then check out the ladder. After your visit, make sure to check out Lake Huron, just a short drive away.

Heritage Park in Barrie, Ontario has lovely places to sit and stroll. It has paid parking right there and I saw security standing by. I observed cyclists and people walking.
