What a great place to take the kids for a few hours! They have a great playground area, volleyball court, hiking trails, paddle boats, and even a shelter. There are also clean bathrooms for your convenience!

Hands down, Dowry Creek Marina is one of the best stops on the East Coast! The location, just minutes off the ICW, is an ideal spot between Elizabeth City and New Bern/Beaufort. The owners and staff at the marina are extremely welcoming and really make you feel at home. Amenities include an awesome pool, a well stocked store, a free laundry room with 3 washer/dryer sets, a lounge with books, puzzles and games, fuel, pump outs (even available at your slip), 3 private and very clean bathrooms/showers, and a courtesy car. The town of Belhaven isn’t large, but there is a good grocery store and several restaurants. The staff went out of their way to take care of everyone. Afternoon storms popped up on 2 of the days we were there. Both days the staff made their way around the marina checking on boats and helping people secure their lines. We travel with our two kids and they both remarked that they would like to stay at Dowry Creek Marina forever. The marina is extremely family-friendly and it felt like a true vacation staying there. We will absolutely be back and will probably choose to keep our boat there full time after we complete the Great Loop.

We rented a beautiful, clean and well kept pontoon and tube from Morningstar Marinas in July and had a wonderful experience with the staff and marina from start to finish. The staff wore masks and the boats were very clean. The marina is so pretty and beautifully landscaped too. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful and much needed day on Lake Norman. It was a 5 STAR experience for our entire family!

The marina has friendly service, rentable water toys like kayaks and paddle boards, and the simple provisions you might need for an outing like drinks and sunblock. The facility is maintained meticulously and the location is beautiful. We rented a kayak. Leaving the marina were were immediately immersed in beautiful scenery. It was August and warm, so we swam from the kayak and just played in the water more than paddling. I cannot emphasize how clean and crystal clear the water was. It was my best lake experience ever. To my surprise, the water in August was warm and comfortable. I had imagined that it would be icy cold, but I was mistaken. If you want to kayak and paddle, go for it. Don't miss out on getting in the water to swim during the warm summer months.

Fabulous stop on the ICW. Dockmaster Henry is a pleasure to work with, incredibly helpful, friendly, the property is very nice and clean and super convenient. Yes, it can be a tight fit for a large vessel in here but I put my 50+ foot single screw trawler on the inside side tie dock in a 15 kt breeze no problem, and guy travelling with me put his 50 footer in the slot on that same dock right ahead of me. We basically consumed the entire side of that dock. Henry worked very hard handling lines on the dock to secure these two very heavy vessels. We needed some service for our dinghy's outboard motor and Henry connected us with Radcliffe Marine who arrived the next morning and started in on the outboard. I cannot image better service and I can't wait to stay here again.

We have ate here many times and the food is delicious. In our opinions we think the shrimp plates are the best, but the cheeseburgers are a close second.
