When you are on a walking tour, you want a comfortable bed, good plumbing and quiet after a strenuous day. Os Poetas checked all the boxes. In addition, it had a wonderful location by the bridge, friendly staff and a very nice breakfast. We couldn't ask for more.

Thank you Placido for restoring Casa D`Auleira into such a beautiful venue set in such a wonderful part of Portugal. This is a place that when you are there makes you forget about the rest of the world..The breakfast is fantastic and the bedrooms are extremely comfortable..There are many types of fruit trees and flowers in the gardens and along with the heated pool help u to really unwind...there is also an adjacent function room which holds up to 80 people..this along with the on site bedrooms, gardens and pool makes this venue an absolute gem of a property to host a wedding or anytype of party...alternatively as a getaway for couples or families you will not be dissapointed..The local town Ponte Da Barca is only 10 mins by taxi or car

Lots of people don’t know but the food is really great here, the dinner was superb! The people are super friendly and the place is very calm and a good refugee from the city. I trully recomend. Just need to add a good green tea to the tea selection and maybe a bit of a more diverse breakfast.

San Payo Convent is a franciscan convent built up in the XIV century. During the 70's, this structure became a private sanctuary for the sculptor Jose Rodrigues. You can see his signature throughout the gardens, dotted with doves, sky and sculpted bodies; and throughout the interior of the Convent, where his art is mixed with his masters’ and friends’ works and with sacred religious and oriental art. There is also a museum with his private collection, whose admission is included in the accommodation rate. The Convent is completely immersed in S. Paio Mountain also know as ‘Monte da Pena’. It is situated 8 km from the nearest village. In a walk towards a wooden cabin and its two ponds teaming with fish, you can find oaks and eucalyptus that are more than half a century old. In the gardens surrounding the Convent there are herds of sheep grazing, fruit trees and flowers blooming throughout the year.
This is a lovely old monastery in a very isolated position, with amazing views and comfortable rooms. The grounds are full of interesting sculptures by a leading local artist. The people that run it are very friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast, and we were impressed at the effort they made to accommodate a gluten-free diet. There is a reasonably well equipped kitchen, which is just as well since the nearest restaurant is quite a way off along winding roads. No shops nearby, so bring your food with you. The disadvantage is a pool which is too small. Highly recommended if you are looking for tranquility and don’t mind being a long way out of town

Muralha de Caminha Caminha, Portugal. Official category unknown. We give strong two stars. 1 night with breakfast for two people cost 60 euros. I think it's a little too much. Caminha is a small Portuguese settlement right next to Spain. Most tourists are hikers like us. The hotel is a stone’s throw from the center and the Harbor. Everything you need is all around. The room was very decent and cozy. The hotel also has a popular local restaurant, where the hotel serves breakfast to guests. Perhaps the biggest disadvantage is that there is no lobby. Our Rating; Price 6.5/10, Location 8,5/10 Room 8,5/10, Services 8/10, Cleanliness 8/10, Breakfast 8/10, Coffee 7/10, Wifi 8,5/10, Bed 8,5/10. Total Rating 7,9 /10 Good.

It was an horrible experience to spend a night here on our Camino from Porto to Santiago. Welcoming guests doesn’t exist, maximum earning for minimum doing and offering is here the credo! Breakfast is just horrible. Actually best not to go there!

Quarto com boa relação qualidade/preço. Casa muito portuguesa. Fomos muito bem recebidos e com grande simpatia pela Joana. Muito bom pequeno-almoço. Obrigada pelas dicas de passeios e pelas dicas de gastronomia local.
