Kneitinger Alter Schlachthof is located 10 minutes easy walk from Regensburg Altstadt. Considering the price of the room it’s perfect. Our room (110) was huge, clean, quiet - with a great bathroom. The twin beds were firm, and we had a wonderful sleep. We thought that breakfast was too expensive (€10/person) - but there is a bakery-coffeeshop located 2 minutes away, so no worries Parking in front of the hotel is free (though it is a little hard to find).

The Angerer is a charming, quaint old world hotel that is family owned and run with a very friendly staff. Stayed here for Government TDY travel. The rooms were nice and comfortable with decent internet and cable TV channels. The hotel was priced well; below Per Diem. Breakfast was sufficient with eggs, cold cuts, bread and some fruit, but was not anything spectacular. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again. Issues: Shower was difficult to get medium hot water, it was either super cold or scalding hot, and took 20 minutes to manipulate and tweak the showers hot & cold water handles to get it comfortably medium, but then after 5 minutes it would go to one extreme either Hot or Cold. So allow time to adjust the shower if you need to be somewhere in the morning. Also no Hair Dryer in my room and old iron with a rusted bottom (I went an bought a new one at the PX for $8 dollars) If you’re looking for a hotel in the center of excitement this hotel is not for you, Vilseck square was boring and limited food & beer options. Better off staying in Amberg, Weiden, etc. since its about the same distance to get to Graf.

My partner and I had dinner here tonight, we ordered the pork fillet with mushroom sauce which includes spätzle or some boiled potatoes with parsley ( as i ordered) along with a fresh green salad. Absolutely delicious meal, can’t fault it, the owner was also very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed chatting to the cute parrot in restaurant which I believe belongs to the owner. Beautiful garden as well to dine in during the warmer months. Highly recommend the location.

I was very positively surprised at the design and quality of the rooms in this guest house... 11/10! Modern, clean and with all mod cons... Very friendly and helpful staff and owner! Breakfast was basic, but adequate and healthy... Delivered with a smile! Great value for money Excellent beer garden and restaurant part of the hotel... Meal in the restaurant was also excellent! I will stay here again if revisiting the area...

We recently stayed at Gasthof Altmann as part of a golf weekend in nearby Furth im Wald. We were 18 people in total with a broad age band and differing ‚culinary needs‘. Not a single complaint or issue came my way, except maybe the WiFi connection (which meant the youngsters had to sleep earlier ?). The owners were extremely helpful and friendly which is always nice!. 18 meals were served and 18 very clean plates say it all about the food. Rooms were very clean, nice size and beds were comfortable. All in all a very nice overnight stay and if we play in Furth im Wald again i would definitely stay here again!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the spacious accomodation (Haus Elke houses 8 people very comfortably), the affordability, great organisation and lovely surroundings. Other than cute Galloway cattle, there are pigs, bunnies and guinea pigs for the kids to enjoy, and of course lots of horses, from tiny Shetland ponies you can grab at anytime and lead around the lake with your child riding on it, to over 17hh horses for riding classes. (Not all horses are that tall, don't fret!) No skills or equipment required, you can book any class from beginner to advanced dressage or jumping (if you are advanced, don't miss the 2 hour trail ride through stunning scenery), and borrow a helmet for free. You can book the same day or the day before, it's easy and straight forward. All horses are excellent and work very well both for beginners and advanced riders - a rare situation! Don't be put off by some instructors' German tone, they all mean very well ;) and you might catch the charming Austrian instructor! Our family had a ball and had a riding lesson every day, ranging from young kids to first-time adults to advanced classes - we covered it all! Great place for a family reunion, as classes are very affordable, too. Food (delicious German fare), drink (think German beer) and internet is available in the main building. You can kick a soccer ball on the soccer field, swim in the lake, book a horse carriage drive, or roast a snag on the fully prepared campfire site (buy a cold beer from the restaurant, it's only 2 dollars for half a litre). They even have a damper night there once a week. If you're a Melbourne coffee snob like me, though, then tough times are awaiting. Oh well, you've got to look forward to coming back to something! Don't expect to have internet reception outside the main building, but who needs internet anyway when there's so much else to enjoy!
