Al Benvenuto: an unforgettable weekend in Carnia In the small town of Tolmezzo, the capital of Carnia and of the mountains of Friuli, the hotel Al Benvenuto is located less than one mile away from the main square, which can be reached with a lovely walk along a beautiful tree-lined path. The hotel can be easily reached when driving on the A23 Udine-Tarvisio (Exit Carnia). Our rooms, located on two floors, are luminous, modern and comfortable. All our rooms are en-suite. The restaurant has three dining rooms, different in size but similar in warmness and cosiness. The biggest room, which can seat more than 100 guests, is the ideal place for groups and banquets. The second, more intimate and confidential, is the perfect dining room for private dinners. The third, rustic and elegant, is located on the bright veranda and has a wide view on the outside. Our everyday cuisine is thought for the workers who want a quick but accurate service and includes many traditional dishes, such as Cjarsons (the typical tortelli), bean and barley soup, Frico and polenta, prime quality roasts and meats, local cold cuts and cheeses, mushrooms, game, tripe and rabbit, to name just a few.
Extremely nice people in a nice hotel
Reviewed By LMSPainWe came with our bicycles. We arrived at 21h, but they waited for us. We asjed for a room to have a shower up to 14h, and they provided one room for us. They have been very gentle. The price was really good. Food and breakfast were good as well. Rooms were clean and beds were good.

It was getting late and I needed a place to stay
Reviewed By Oliver DJust coasting around the Dolomites and headed towards Sauris as I wanted to try the "famous" prosciutto. I was in no rush and the drive from Riva del Garda was lovely in parts. Eventually it was getting late, around 2000 and I arrived in Sauris di Sotto. With its seemingly manicured woodlands and surroundings and the lovely wooden houses I came across the Morgenleit. They had a room, the rate was very good and the staff friendly and personable. The room was large and clean with a balcony overlooking woods. Thankfully I'm not too large at the moment as the shower wasn't too spacious. There's parking right out the front and there's also outdoor seating for a sundowner. The restaurant, underneath was fine, as was the dinner. I got to sample the prosciutto! It was nice (I still prefer St Daniele). Breakfast was included. Continental, sufficient but not to American standards. There was WiFi but not sure if they charge as I didn't use it. Lovely little place. Must be gorgeous in winter. Be sure not to miss Lake Sauris, further south.

Reviewed By EADGPLRFabulous food, hospitality and horses - what more could you want??? Anita and Franco are the best. And fantastic horses and horsemanship with Danielo and Silvia. They even care for a totally blind horse - you have to see the relationship !!

LE STUPENDE MONTAGNE DELLA CARNIA
Reviewed By Umbria60Posto incantevole dove l'unico rumore che si poteva sentire era il suono della campana.La struttura dove abbiamo soggiornato stupenda con camere grandi , pulite e ben arredate , bagno spazioso e pulito ,sala colazione con un buffet ricchissimo specialmente con le torte fatte in casa dalla signora.

La casa è stata ottimamente ristrutturata e si presenta agli occhi del visitatore accogliente. L'appartamento a noi riservato era all'ultimo piano, con doppia esposizione sul paese, affacciato sul fiume che lo attraversa. I locali sono confortevoli e curati nel dettaglio, arredati con gusto e funzionalità. Il soggiorno luminoso e l'angolo cucina ben corredato, il bagno ampio con una doccia agevole. Io e mio marito con una coppia di amici ci siamo ambientanti benissimo. Il signor Screm ci ha ricevuto con la consueta ospitalità che contraddistingue le persone appassionate del proprio lavoro, disponibile a far conoscere il territorio e premuroso verso l'ospite. Il paese si trova in ottima posizione ed è ben servito, nelle alpi orientali, ideale per escursioni tra Carnia,Trentino e Cadore, con possibilità di "sconfinare" in territorio austriaco. Scenari unici fatti di pascoli, case e chiese. Le sorgenti del Piave, il Monte Zoncolan, le 3 Cime di Lavaredo offrono panorami spettacolari!. Oltre al bel paese di Rigolato ed alle sue interessanti frazioni (Ludaria, Gracco ecc), si possono poi visitare luoghi di rara bellezza come il borgo autentico di Sauris ed il suo incantevole lago blu, Forni di Sotto e Forni di Sopra, imperdibile anche Pesariis il paese degli orologi, Sappada vecchia con le caratteristiche abitazioni, Sutrio con creative opere in legno, San Candido con il suo bel centro e il Duomo, il lago di Dobbiaco e quello di Auronzo di Cadore. D'obbligo la degustazione di specialità locali: il prosciutto e lo speck di Sauris, il frico, i prodotti caseari della Latteria di Sappada Vecchia, vari tipi di birra artigianale a Sauris, strudel e deliziosi dolci con frutta di bosco. Piatti genuini, legati alla tradizione. Casa Screm è stata ogni giorno l'inizio e il completamento della nostra idea di "viaggio" : punto di partenza mattutino e meta di ritorno serale.

Reviewed By daniela vMi serviva trascorrere solo una notte a Udine e sono arrivata al BB Le Sartorie tramite il passaparola; veramente bello, curatissimo, pulito ,confortevole, mi sono sentita a casa :-) La possibilità di prepararti la colazione con un sacco di prodotti a disposizione, la possibilità di poter eventualmente portare delle cose tue se hai problemi alimentari, fantastico! Comodissimo anche il parcheggio all'interno del cortile e la qualità-prezzo, direi ottima. Complimenti alle padrone di casa Daniela e Michela. Super consigliato, da provare!

Reviewed By winky2019If you're looking for a few days to get away from the hustle and bustle and get lost in a few good books with some gorgeous small scale quality wine on the balcony overlooking the vines... This is the place. It's rustique and peaceful, the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They were accommodating at all times, I loved the caludris wine.
