Incredible setting with fab hosts
Reviewed By Pen0811My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here, the bungalow was great, it had a massive bed and loads of space. The outside patio was great with a comfy sofa and nice bathroom area. The shower is outside in the garden which is great. you are given a choice of breakfast, traditional or yoghurt with granola. Both are good and set you up nicely for the day ahead. Sophie our host was very helpful when we organised transfers to our next hotel and made us coffee and tea when we wanted. I had read on other reviews doubts about security but we found the place to be very safe. There is a safe in the room and also a security man on duty all night. We did t have a car which made things more difficult (going out to eat) but used the free bikes in the day to cycle to the beach. would highly recommend

Reviewed By Robin FThis is our 4th trip to Nosara Fishing, love planning this trip because I know everyone will be happy with the accommodations and catch fish !! 4 couples stayed in El Capitan, clean, kitchen has everything you need to cook, great location to the town. Walkable to area, we rented golfcarts to explore and go to different beaches. Planning this trip is easy, communication via email excellent, Craig or Maddie can and will answer any and all questions in a timely manner. Once there any questions or issues are handled by the great staff in the office. They can also arrange tours or activities, Miss Sky zip line is always a hit. Maria's breakfast is a welcomed and needed start to the day, good food and wonderful coffee. Fished with Captain William for 4 days, caught sails, a marlin, tuna and more, we have never been disappointed fishing with them !! Marlin Bill's will cook your fish, fish fingers are the best. The pool is a pleasant gathering place in the afternoon, and peaceful during the day. Playing cards and games on the porch is the perfect end to the day. Howler monkeys all day. For non-fishing people, the beach is nice, lunch at Rosi's, drinks and lunch at Beach Dog Cafe, market I think is Tues morning, a massage at Tica's, walk through the shops, just explore. If you want to catch fish and just get away you can't go wrong doing it with Fishing Nosara. This is one trip I can take and know once I've made my reservations and purchased my airline ticket I'm good. As a side note this last trip was planned for 2021 and had to be delayed for Covid, they were easy to change my reservations for 2022. After writing this will be planning a family trip for 2023 !!

Peaceful Oasis in Playa Potrero i
Reviewed By Marina PFrom the dirt road this place is understated , but as soon as we passed through the little gate we were met by Susan. She warmly welcomed us and showed us our large, vaulted ceiling, clean , fresh scented, poolside king size bed room . The linens were beautiful. The air conditioning and ceiling fan were fabulous and the bathrooms were complete with pool and shower towels. One small demerit, that we discussed with Susan, was that there is no breakfast or coffee machine in suite , with this Bed and Breakfast listing. Which is something they know they have to get changed on their listing. They used to offer a breakfast but Covid changed that. Coffee can be made in their little outdoor shed/kitchen She had excellent restaurant recommendations though. All in all it was a clean, safe, quiet, peaceful and relaxing place with excellent service from Susan.

Great location, chill environment, great kitchen, nice staff
Reviewed By 196nitinrWe came to the hotel with a large group including little kids. The hotel is beautiful with a great outdoor, shared kitchen that is spacious and has everything you need. There is a fantastic pool and lounge area next to it. The environment was very relaxing and a close walk to the beach. The staff are great and hospitable. The negative part of this hotel depends on which room you book. Some rooms seemed very spacious with multiple levels. We got a small room likely because the whole hotel was sold out but it did have air-conditioning. The bathrooms were full of bugs, particularly ants and we saw some cockroaches. It must be hard to keep such bugs out of a tropical room but naturally this wasn't so pleasant to see on vacation. Also, the rooms didn't have some basic things like shampoo and conditioner. One of the rooms had hard beds in which you could feel the springs. Bathroom was very small in one of the rooms. Overall, it's a great value place if you are aware of some of the negative before you book.

Reviewed By 187duncI stayed here for one night. The hotel has plenty of parking, the staff/host was very friendly and helpful. The room is ok, reasonably clean, but the decor and how the room is decorated makes the room really quiet dark. So dark that it didn't help when it came to trying to find the mosquito that kept biting me. It would have been great if there had been a mosquito net. As I ended up having to make one myself. Something I'd rather not have to do. Now I fully appreciate that having a mosquito in the room isn't really the hotels fault. But it certainly doesn't help. But apart from that breakfast was good.

The appartement was perfect, in every detail, we also enjoyed the pool and the gym with a great view in a quiet area. On the top, we could go and dive with our host and great dive master Chris. This is an amazing place and we do recommend it 100%.

The Secret you don't want to share
Reviewed By Detail_Devil_666Having found this "quirky" hotel on the internet t was either going to be terrible or amazing and luckily it turned out to be one of the best places we have ever stayed in. What made it so good was it's honesty. If you want hot and cold running Staff doing everything for you, please don't go. This is the place where you feel like a member of the family who can come and go as you please. Highlight for me was to lay on the beach in the evening and look up at the myriad of stars

Reviewed By Sara CThis is a review of the steakhouse only. Great ribeye. Highly recommend for steaks. Did not try empanada but regret that. We would return but not for the chicken which was fine but not as exciting as the steak. We did not have a reservation, the place was full by the time we left.

This very private 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house sits on 29 acres with a beautiful pool overlooking the Costa Rican jungle, wildlife, and nightly colorful sunsets. The pool has a patio surrounding it with sunbathing area and lounge chairs. It has a large open living space with a full kitchen and washer and dryer unit. Each bedroom has its own private patio, and personal bathroom suite with a private outdoor shower. The property is very close to grocery stores, various beaches and downtown Tamarindo and (10-15 minutes). There is a delicious restaurant (Restaurante la Finca) right at the bottom of our hill and a highly rated resort and spa at the top of our hill (Los Altos de Eros Boutique Hotel & Spa). You can sit by the pool daily and watch families of howler monkeys swing from tree to tree munching on their favorite flowers or taking naps right next to the house. You can also watch the iguanas jump into trees, snack on bugs and run through the brush.

Reviewed By jesrlgThis house is beautiful. Open concept in the large living area, with privacy in the four large bedrooms and panoramic views from the pool area. Great layout! No traffic, no neighbors and you can't even see or hear anyone from another house. It's tucked into the countryside and surrounded by nature. You can see and hear holler monkeys in the back yard along with various types of birds. Sunrise @ 5:00 A.M. and sunset @ 6:00 P.M. It is located 15 minutes away from stores and Cafe's (Soda's) in Villarreal and 30 minutes from Tamarindo and several beaches. Our host, Jami, was always available to answer any questions and helpful in suggesting a variety of excursions. I would highly recommend this house and look forward to visiting again.It was very relaxing with an intimate setting. Thank you very much, Jami! Jimi and Rosie

Best B&B in Matapolo
Reviewed By Dennis sWe have been coming to Costa Rica and Matapalo beach for 19 years. We found Jardin del los Monos on booking.com it looked good and we thought we’d take a chance. Being in CR many times before we knew it could go either way. I can’t tell you how happy we are and how nice this place is. The owners are husband and wife from the Netherlands ( sorry can’t remember their names). They have really invested a lot of time, money and caring in redoing and decorating, the rooms are new and feel high end!! EVERTHING WORKS AND THE WATER IS HOT. If you’ve ever been to CR before you’ll know that isn’t always the case. The internet is fast and reliable and they have a backup water source. If there were shortcuts taken I don’t see them. Breakfast is excellent and the hostess bakes bread that is OUTRAGOUSLY good. There is a new beautiful swimming pool and the ocean is just a very short walk I can actually hear it as I write this. I’m not sure I have ever written a review this good but it deserves it. Matapalo beach has a very authentic Costa Rican feel slow and beautiful. I saw a pack of about 40 monkeys this morning moving thru the trees and there is a sloth in the tree out front. If you want some action Manuel Antonio is only about half an hour away. They have created a very friendly, warm and comfortable atmosphere. I’m sorry to leave and am anxious to come back. Book a room - you won’t be sorry.
