The Green Guest house is situated @ No: 419, Government Servants Housing Scheme, New Town, Polonnaruwa, along the banks of the 2nd canal; the main canal of the Great Parakrama Samudraya. It is about 2 km from Polonnaruwa & 3 km from Kaduruwela main bus & the railway stations. Operating 24 hour front desk it provides comfortable rooms & free Wi-Fi. Simply purnished rooms are cooled with either a fan or air conditioning depending the request. A rooms include a Towel rack, a Cupboard, Towels, Soap, Bed sheets & filtered water. Hot water is also available & provides on request. TV facility is there in the common room. You can also experience a bath from clear waters of 2nd Canal. As this is a family guest house, the guests can experience tasty Sri Lankan village food. The UNESCO world heritage site is located about 2.5 km range. For Elephant safaris it is about 1 hour drive to Minneriya or Kavudulla National parks. Free Medical consultation (Owner is a doctor). We have 7 rooms.

Reviewed By Piyantha KBrief stop whilst roaming the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. Astounded by the excellent guest service and calm, quiet ambiance of the location. Was astonished to dine a local meal perfectly crafted from the "in-house garden farm" and proteins from the near by stream; this was truly unique. And as others said before in their reviews, owners are exemplary and charming people. It also seems "Doctor(owner) always in the house" ;-) For certain, will make yet another trip specially to spend a few more days than we did this time.

Reviewed By Lak_SurWe stayed there for 2 nights and we really enjoyed the stay. Rooms are spacious with good facilities. We liked the water pressure of the bathrooms. Staff was so friendly ( Sampath and his assistant). Near to all the attractions.

Stop at Gunners Pub
Reviewed By armyshanakaA nice place managed by Sri Lanka #Army. The pool and the pub is seen while you travel from Habarana to Polonnaruwa. Kids play area. Lot of space for car parking. Reasonable rates. Stop for a while to taste a cup of Ceylon tea Coffee or a chilled Lion beer.

Excellent place, host and food!
Reviewed By albertrimbauIt is a really cool place with a really cool host family, who helped us with everything we needed. They cooked delicious food for us, rented us bikes and arranged jeep for safari, tuk tuks, etc. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the surroundings were really cool and full of monkeys! We strongly recommend this place!!

Mr. Valentine, who was unaware of our booking apologised profusely for having us waiting while he prepared our room in few short moments. The cleanliness and luxury of the room was breathtaking, even further considering the short notice. Mr. Valentine is an excellent cook, and will be happy to prepare a delicious meal for you any time of the day. He and his family are happy to have visitors and will make you feel welcome without being imposing. I was sad to have only stayed one night. Whether you're staying in the city for its historic sights (mr. Valentine is happy to be a guide if you wish) or just passing through and need a place to crash overnight, Valentine's is the right place.

MY HOME GUEST HOUSE is an affordable accommodation located in Polonnaruwa. Here you can feel like home. It features a spacious outdoor terrace, free WiFi internet access and free parking facilities for those who drive. The guesthouse is just 200 m from Polonnaruwa Ancient City, Polonnaruwa National Museum & Parakrama Lake. Kaduruwela Railway & Bus Station is 5 km away while Sigiriya is 28 km away. Very nice place with a precious host!
Reviewed By NicoRussVery nice place run by an older gentleman and his family. He was very helpful, the room was clean with own bathroom and there is a nice outside place to sit. You can rent bikes or book safaris directly from that place. Enjoy a well made tea in the morning to start your day. Rooms are maybe a little small when you plan to just stay inside. But that's not your reason for traveling, right? ;-) Best you can get for this price!

Reviewed By Olivier TUn bon séjour dans l'hôtel. La famille est très présente mais plutôt gentille. Certains codes de l'hôtellerie ne sont pas encore là. Proche des temples de la ville les chambres sont propres et spacieuses avec moustiquaires.
