A log cabin b&b right on the New River in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Les than ten minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Open from April until December.
Great stay. It wasn't as fancy as the pictures made it seem, but it was very clean and the staff was very friendly. It was also a great location. We were able to walk a lot of places without needing to pay for parking. It was a grab-and-go breakfast, but it was a much better one than we have had in the past at other hotels.

My husband and I were at a Chrysler dealership finding out that our van was in trouble and couldn’t be fixed till the next day. We had been in Maggie Valley on a cousins reunion over the weekend. We were stuck and nowhere to stay. We had met a gentleman in the waiting room who saw our suitcases and asked if we were in need of a play to stay? He was getting his oil changed. He us to check out a place called VedaInn on the website as he was the owner and could help us. He gave us an incredible price and so we booked. He actually gave us a ride to the Inn as there were no available car rentals, anywhere. We were blown away by his kindness and concern for us. We absolutely LOVED the room we had and the place was so easy to walk to several places to eat and shop. We had a great stay. Every detail of the room was fabulous from the bed to the air conditioner, walk in shower to the decor. The property is bordered by a running creek and there is a fire-pit with a huge area for gathering. There is a wonderful charm about it. The outside is retro but the inside is modern and awesome with all the comforts of home.Great stay for us.Thanks David! We hope to be back to stay again. God is good.?

The room was clean, beds were comfortable and it was very quite even though the hotel was full. There was a dog (they allow pets) but it was still very quite. There was a problem with the hot water, but it was fixed within the hour.

Old, I don't think it's been updated since the '80s the furniture was incredibly uncomfortable. The game room was a joke. The hot water in the rooms was hotter than the hot tub. And there's no ventilation in the rooms so when you cook the room is going to smell like whatever you cooked for days. I got it at a greatly reduced price on Airbnb had I paid the actual room price I would have been extremely pissed. Even at the reduced price I won't stay there again

The Blue Ridge Village is the perfect retreat from the stress and strain of everyday life. The woodsy villas are nestled in the mountains close to several ski areas and breathtaking Grandfather Mountain. Banner Elk is a vibrant mountain community with plenty of year round events for all ages and interests.
We booked this resort through RCI timeshares, RCI provided good reviews. It was not - we booked for 4/30/2022 through 5/7/2022 and left after 3 days. It is old and run down. No hiking trails as advertised, no pool, the miniature golf was very outdated and not well kept. We were told there were views and requested our suite to have one. We had no view - looked at a ditch and someone else deck. The huge jet tube was unsafe (uneven floor & high walls to get into) with a shower. The flush need work as it ran all the time. They put us in one building that we had to fight for a parking spot and very noisy to sleep. Bottom line - not a good experience. There was nothing to do around the resort within 50 miles except one cave and Grandfather mountain. Very disappointed.

Our tranquil lake setting is a haven for those seeking lodging in a casual, family resort atmosphere with the unhurried pace of a mountain retreat. A perfect place for honeymoons, anniversaries, family reunions, small group meetings or a quiet restorative getaway.
We look forward to staying here each year as we travel through on our way north or south. The rooms are reminiscent of vintage lake cottages. They are basic but comfortable and pristine as far as cleanliness. The millpond and sound of water are very relaxing. We always find something good to eat at local restaurants or grill something to have onsite. The area offers great drives, biking, hiking and interesting places to visit. If you want to venture a bit further, all of Asheville awaits!

We have seven one bedroom suites, all with private baths, including a bridal suite and dressing area. Suites have personal kitchen areas and also screened-in porches. Some porches have wooden swings to make you feel even more comfortable. We have a swimming pool, fire pit, horseshoes, a large screened-in porch with grills, and free wifi.
We stayed 3 nights in the Cowee Moutain suite. The room and the screened porch were both very spacious. The bedroom had a comfortable King bed. The bathroom shower had plenty of room. The lodge is a very pretty property, but what makes it special is the manager Candy. Candy is so warm and friendly that we felt as though we were staying with a friend. She made a great breakfast each morning, which easily carried us through to a late lunch. The lodge is a little off the beaten path yet very convenient to restaurants. We highly recommend Cat Creek Lodge!
