I absolutely loved this place. When I arrived a very friendly host was already waiting for me, showed me my room, had a great place for my bike and informed, that he was just around the corner if there were any issues. But there weren´t any. My room was huge, really clean, very sunny in the evening. The (shared) bathroom was also large and very clean, with a really good shower. Did not use the kitchen, but I think the facilities there were also very up-to-date and clean, but I used the veranda and the lazy chair and enjoyed dozing there in the afternoon. Would definitely go there again

From what we could see, unless you are staying at the albergue, which is run by Dutch volunteers, Roncesvalles has overpriced and kind of crap accommodations. The service here was really unfriendly. The breakfast had all been made in advance and was pretty sparse with few options (bread toasted and cold and hard, no fruit except apples, small and greasy chocolate croissants, no water for tea). When we walked on to Burguete the next day through a gorgeous forest, all downhill or level, we really kicked ourselves for not just powering right past Roncesvalles. Burguete is where Hemingway used to stay. It's a lovely Swiss-looking mountain town with multiple dining options (Roncesvalles has no restaurants--your only option is to eat in the hotels) and a much more charming vibe than Roncesvalles. If you do stay in Ronscesvalles, this place is pretty mediocre and not a great value for the money, but it is steps from the Camino after a really hard day of walking, which is why I am bumping it up to three stars!

Great value for money, very clean and modern, supermarket and laundromat nearby, only downside was it is a bit away from the Camino de Santiago route, also a great little bar near the laundromat that serves good pincho

We were staying overnight at the AC Marriott hotel. We wanted a local supper and this bar/restaurant was recommended. What a find. Delicious set weekend menu. €15 for 3 courses incl wine. My beef sirloin was melt in the mouth and my husband had the secreto cerdo, also delicious. The other plates of food that were being served also looked amazing but beware BIG portions. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere had a truly weekend Spanish feeling. Highly recommended.

Simply stay away. Its too expensive for what it offers. The rooms look nice, but the mattress feels like its 15 years old, the pillow is one huge hard thing that only causes neck pain. There is a playground next to the Hotel so you might have loud teenagers until late hours, as it happened to me. And I am not going to a little village in the mountains to hear teenagers shout during nighttime. Breakfast is something you have to pay extra... Its simply ridiculous. But the worst is the Hotel Restaurant. You can not eat this, coming with a big price tag though. Service is non existent. The food is ridiculous expensive and simply bad, not to be eaten. They only offer menus for 20 or 30 euros and its not worth the money. So stay away, look around in the village... Plenty of other sleeping possibilities... Or better: drive on.

Casa Atostarra reappears by means of a project with which an old building is restored on the banks of the Arakil river. It is in the village of Ibero (180 inhabitants) and only ten minutes from Pamplona. The house has four totally equipped apartments (kitchen, washing machine, hairdryer, tv, dvd, wifi) with spectacular views of nature, and some shared areas (pool, barbecue, parking...)The apartments have independent entrances, so those of us who enjoy this little paradise may keep intimacy and privacy at a desirable distance.
This is a lovely old property that has been lovingly restored by its present owners, and is ideal for a relaxing break. Our apartment was nicely fitted out for a self catering holiday, with a balcony overlooking the river where we had breakfast and watched local children swimming in the clean waters of the river. Isabel and Juan (Peter) live on the property and are very friendly, and are there to help if you need them. The only negative we could find is there are no facilities in the village and no restaurants of any worth nearby, and although Pamplona is 15 minutes away we struggled to find a good place to eat there too. As a result we mainly ate lunchtimes while visiting beautiful villages like Estella and Olite where there are plenty of restaurants. That said we recommend Casa Atostarra if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

A very cosy and healthy looking house which has been restored using bioclimatic criteria, Feng-Shui, bio-construction, Geobiology. Self-sufficient with renewable energy. We have one large bedroom with a fireplace.Depending on the season, you can collect wild mushrooms, chestnuts, walnuts, blackberries, camomile, or watch the squirrels, foxes, deer in the surrounding forests, and the sheep, cows, pigs and horses. The house is situated 35 km from Pamplona, in the Basaburua Valley, between the valleys of Ulzama and Larraun (the Aralar Mountains). Alberta’s cooking; it is your choice: traditional, Italian or vegetarian. There are 5 ensuite rooms and we have placed the beds in the healthiest places in the house according to the geobiology to ensure a better rest. In the house we have books and documentation on the plants and flowers, Feng-Shui, Bioconstruction, Geobiology, Food and Health, Ecology and others. If you smoke, we would kindly like to ask you to smoke outside. The house can be rented as a whole unit.
We booked this place thinking it was a really ecologic place, the place smells very weird, the bed was uncomfortable and smelly, the family lives upstairs and in the morning you can hear all the noises, this was a very bad experience for my and my husband, You fees like you are in haunted house, in the morning the gay who runs the place served what he called breakfast very expensive and bad quality. The "hotel" is located in a very isolated area.
