My husband and I were supposed to attend a wedding this coming weekend so we booked a room at the lodge, unfortunately I tested positive for COVID and decided it would be best to cancel and not attend the wedding. I called the lodge to ask if it was possible to cancel our reservation, instead of the owner being polite and kind to me I got a response of laughing at me on the phone and “did you look at our cancellation policy?!” Not very good customer service in my opinion, I mistakenly misread the cancellation policy and thought it was a 2 day notice but it is actually a 2 WEEK notice. Just by that interaction Im glad we didn’t go because I don’t think we would have felt welcomed especially if there was an issue. I think they should have been more accommodating especially during this time, apparently the owner would have wanted me to continue my plans and infect her staff/customers and everyone at the wedding we were supposed attend.

We were looking for a budget place to stay on a short night on our way to Portland . We got a “cabin” room on edge of the property and it was ok. An older place but had a new t.v. and a fridge and the bathroom was updated . The first thing my wife noticed was there was NO chain- flip over security latch of any sort on the inside of the door . a 5 $ fix for piece of mind would be nice . A chair under the doorknob was our security system . Slept good and went to check out at about 0800. The managers live above office i assume, so I went to get my reciept paperwork which i file on my trips, and didn’t get the night before, and the office was locked . I rang the doorbell and no one was there . I figured they were out and about or cleaning rooms. We left and I called later and talked to the manager and asked for my paper work copy on a e-mail or texted picture . She took my info and said it would be sent . She never sent it and so I called back and requested e-mail again. Still waiting . Not a real good fix for an easy request . I’m rating this a 2 because of this .

Mt Chase Lodge was established in 1960 as a recreational sporting lodge catering to sportsmen, hikers, family vacationers, snowmobilers and other outdoor oriented folks who appreciate the adventure and tranquility of the north Maine woods. In a quiet wooded setting, our comfortable lodge and private cabins offer excellent accommodations. Experience Wild Maine without sacrificing comfort!
My February 2022 weekend at Mt. Chase Lodge is the second time I brought a group of college students to the lodge for a weekend field trip. We needed snow, a frozen lake, and forest to conduct field studies that focused on winter ecology and at the end of the day, food and lodging that warmed our bellies and bodies. We got all of this and more from Lindsay and Mike. Because of winter weather and some other unanticipated circumstances that surfaced right before our scheduled weekend, I had to rearrange our arrival and departing time at the last minute and Lindsay could not have been more helpful. I was there for work but would love to visit on my own to soak up all that the lodge and surrounding land has to offer in the middle of the winter. At the same time, it didn't feel much like "work" because the whole experience of being there was so wonderful. I cannot recommend Mt. Chase Lodge enough to someone who has never been there.

Located on the pristine shores of beautiful Second Roach Pond in Maine’s famed 100-Mile Wilderness region, Medawisla Wilderness Lodge and Cabins offers a chance to recharge and connect with family and friends. A traditional Maine sporting camp, Medawisla and the surrounding woodlands offer boundless opportunities for year-round adventure. Fish for land-locked salmon and brook trout, hike to views of Mount Katahdin, paddle Second Roach Pond, or ski our trails from your cabin door.
I visited Medawisla for the first time over the Fourth of July weekend with my wife and our two young children. It was hands-down the best trip we have ever taken together and we cannot wait to go back - and to go back for longer! The staff is dialed in - John is an outstanding host who made us instantly feel welcome and comfortable. My wife is vegan and the food preparations made for her benefit were just incredible - they made her feel very well taken care of. The cabin was spotless; beautiful pine interiors and a wood stove that was just perfect after a day of water activities and hiking in pretty chilly weather. Medawisla is completely off the grid - and it was a revelation to totally unplug and enjoy nature. Our family of four took a canoe out on the lake the morning of July 4, and it was one of the best experiences in our lives. Floating in the lake, surrounded by mountains and forest and absolutely no development of any kind was so peaceful and surreal - like we were floating through a nature photograph. We came across so many moose tracks on our afternoon hike, but didn't spot any - maybe next time. We were told that an outfit out of Greenville does moose tours in the area and will even come pick up guests at Medawisla. I think we will check that out next time! If you want to truly get away and immerse yourself in nature, this is the absolutely perfect place to do it. I'd give it a million stars if I could. Can't wait to go back.

Please join us for a delicious meal from a varied and changing menu which of course includes lobster dinners. We also offer a great wine list and craft draft beer. Stay with us and enjoy our accommodations which reflect the history of this timeless building and the waterfront upon which it sits. Please, no pets or smoking.
The owners have done a great job of restoring this building. Tastefully decorated with mostly antiques. Stayed in a room with king bed that adjoins with a gathering room that anyone can use with sink, microwave, fridge. It has a large window where you can sit and watch the seals which I did when we had a hard rain. At 7:00 a.m. really good coffee and real cream, muffin and yogurt are put in the gathering room for when you get up. Worth getting up for. They have the best food in Lubec but it is only open certain nights at 5:00 and you need reservations or you may not get in. They also have very good servers. Restaurant is located below the rooms. We enjoyed our stay.

Wheaton's Lodge is a traditional family operated sporting camp specializing in smallmouth bass and landlocked salmon fishing, ideally situated amidst spectacular lake country in eastern Maine, well beyond the fringe of population and fishing pressures. Our reputation is founded on a long tradition (1952) of proven fishing results, good food, peace and quiet, and warm hospitality.
I have fished in almost every state and in all the provinces of Canada . A lot of places like Alaska and the Arctic circle have their own experiences and romance. This was my first time to Maine on all occasions. I usually travel alone but on this mission my brother came. The fishing was great even though it was not prime season like June . The accommodations were simple, clean and plenty of hot water. Fished out of Grand laker canoes . The guides were awesome . The camp owners were like family . Shore lunch’s were great. We actually made some long lasting friendships. I will return possibly next year. The most down to earth folks I have ever met. The lone Eagle

Leen's Lodge is the only full-service Sporting Lodge on West Grand Lake. We offer delicious food from our dining facility and 9 wonderfully appointed rustic cabins with picture windows, overlooking some of the most beautiful and pristine scenery anywhere.
The title says it all! This place is simply magical. We are world travelers, and this resort vacation ranks with the best experiences that we have ever had. Leen's is located in the "middle of nowhere" and, quite frankly, that adds to the charm. It is a sportsman's paradise - offering great fishing, birding and hunting recreation. The cabins on the lake are charming offering unbelievable water's edge vistas and epic sunsets. As always, the people make it special. Owners, Scott and Kris, ably assisted by first mate, Wendy, do everything possible to make your visit special. Scott, also the chef, prepares gourmet meals each day - always topped off with a sensational dinner. How does filet mignon, lobster and lamb chops sound as our evening fare? Also special is the guide situation, We were truly blessed to have Les assigned to us as our fishing guide. This man is a wilderness marvel. In addition to giving us a great fishing adventure, he then proceeded to prepare a three-course lunch (including the salmon we just caught) over a water's-edge campfire that must be experienced to be believed. In fact, when we got home, we immediately had to try and replicate the unusual sides and "guide coffee" that he made for us. Just "wow" - easily the most impressive fishing experience we have ever had. We are already making plans for a return visit next year. We could not recommend a wilderness vacation more than highly that which awaits you at "Leen's Lodge."
