Until couple of years ago the place was run to accommodate the needs of surfers. The staff was flexible and friendly. The surf school was always open with someone ready to help customers and students, boards and wetsuits tidy. Now is all about the wine and very little attention is dedicated to the clients that are at the lodge to surf. The breakfast time is incompatible with surf classes times, the surfschool is often unattended and the door closed. The wetsuits tank full with used t-shirts and wetsuits. Clients don't have easy access to the equipments and the school is unattended. The quality of the teachers is questionable. I was so in love with this place but I doubt I will return. What a pity.

Located near the medieval village of Óbidos, about 45 minutes from Lisbon and two hours from Oporto, The Village at Praia D'el Rey Golf & Beach Resort offers several accommodation options: apartments, townhouses and villas that reflect the authenticity and culture of the region, with details such as the typical blue tiles and paths paved with Portuguese sidewalk, surrounded by gardens and near the golf course or the beach. Townhouses and apartments are available with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and share common swimming pools in each block. The villas can have 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms and a private pool. The by the Garden units are located at the entrance to the resort center, near the Clubhouse and a few kilometers from the beach. They are apartments and townhouses with swimming pool of condominium and a more classic decoration. Units by the Ocean are located next to the North Beach of the Resort, walking distance from the beach, restaurant Maré and the PDR Market (seasonal). They have a modern decor with a classic touch, perfect for an unforgettable family holiday.
The course was ok. The resort spread out over a large area. 5-star Marriott hotel on it, but not for us. Accomodation functional but basic, beds, all twins, close together. Resort utterly isolated, miles from shops, supermarkets or towns/villages, so a captive audience. Few facilities for golfers, couldn't get chocolate bars or bottles of drinks, only cans (useless on a golf course). Restaurant staff helpful and friendly and food not bad, but prices very high. (Got a Mars bar there, €3!). Impossible to go to or find local restaurants, as there are none. Unlikely to return, not very golfer-friendly, especially long walk up hill to resort/club house.

Loved the spot just facing the ocean and Berlengas, loved the cosy apartment near the pool, nice pool by the way. Very kind staff, especially at breakfast which I truly recommend. And we loved it so much that we hope to be returning in the next couple of weeks.

This is a residential waiting for hotel four stars confirmation. It is 50 metres distance from gigi beach, a excelent spot for surf. But is 100 metres distance from other excelent beaches and surf spots. We have surf lessons, kayaksurf lessons and cicle rides.
We always stay here it is close to the beach lagides and baleal and opposite is a small supermarket with a nice cafe. Staff are great. Rooms are clean and all seem to have balconies. Not sure what’s not too like about this place

Beautifully surrounded by a green landscape, Quinta do Pinheiro offers a comfortable stay for its guests to recharge batteries and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside in Valado dos Frades, Nazaré. Apart from the hotel, the guests can also take advantage of the restaurant and bar, as well as enjoy the nature.
We arrived at the hotel mid afternoon after an all night flight from Canada to Lisbon and then the drive to Valado de Frades. We were tired and hungry. We were also the only guests at this spectacular hotel. We were taken to our room and without asking, informed by our hostess that the chef would have dinner ready for us in twenty minutes. What a pleasant surprise. Excellent food, accommodations and hospitality second to none. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our Portugal visit.

We stayed as a couple in room 1 with 3 young adults in room 5. Intersting interior. Nice roof terrace. Bring drinks etc. In as not much available in town. Great breakfast. We parked across from the town in the free parking and dropped our bags off at the town entrance. Neat place.

Comfortable and welcoming stay! We primarily interacted with Pam the owner who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Pam knows the area and happily shares her insight about where to dine and what to do while visiting this beautiful area. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We appreciated all of the special little touches—sweets, snacks, fruit, coffee/tea and the delicious wholesome breakfast each day. We had use of the clothes washer for a small fee and was able to hang our clothes out in their back area. She and her husband, Mark, have created a very welcoming B&B that is within walking distance to restaurants, beaches and famous lighthouse. We felt like we were staying with new friends.

This hotel in Nazare is a great and simple accommodation solution for a night or two. Perfectly located in the middle of the beach front it is literally surrounded by restaurants, bar and nightlife. If you come by car there is a high chance to find a place to park, however you need to pay for most of the day (something like from 8am to 8pm, however the lady at the check in (not on site but in another hotel very close to it) told us a place not far where you can park your car and it does not cost that much. the only inconvient is that once this hotel is located on the beach front l have been awaken by workers cleaning the foothpath removing the sand and using a very noisy machinery.....at 6/7 am, not cool!

This site is mostly about cabins but it has space for tourers and others. Like so many campsites, they appear to have problems with maintenance of the plumbing! However, lots of really hot water was available. It is clear that, although they make tourer vans very welcome, they don't really understand them! Unusual in Portugal. You go and choose the pitch you want and then go back to reception to get a key for the relevant electric box. They give you a key and you return to your pitch to plug in but you are asked to take the key back to reception before 8pm. When you leave you have to repeat this shuffle! The camping car service point is a dead end bay that you have to reverse to use and it is not exactly easy to get to! Without ACSI discount rates, I think we would have felt it didn't represent value for money but at the reduced rate it was fine.
