Kalimpong is a bustling bazaar town set among the rolling foothills and deep valleys of the Himalayas. Kalimpong has become an important tourist destination owing to its temperate climate and proximity to popular tourist locations in the region. It is famous for its flower market, especially the wide array of orchids. Other attractions include Buddhist monasteries including the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang - known for its rare Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, churches, an excellent private library for the study of Tibetan and Himalayan language and culture. Kalimpong is home to Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje - 17th Karmapa. Kalimpong is also known for its traditional handicrafts.Although not many travellers bother to visit Kalimpong, there's enough here to keep you occupied for a couple of days, and for the energetic there's some good trekking and river-rafting in the river Teesta.

Deki Lodge is located in the 10 Mile Area, about 10 minutes walk northwards from the bus/ taxi stand on Tripai Road. Deki Lodge is unique with its atmosphere of tranquility and serenity and yet being within walking distance from the Tharpa Choling and the Bhutanese Thongsa Gompa Monasteries, the town centre and the Main Market Square. Deki Lodge is owned and run by a Tibetan family.
A belated review for a stay in December 2019. Deki is like an Oasis - behind the front gate it is a calm and relaxing oasis. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. The room was the cleanest and most comfortable of all those we experienced during our travels around India - and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. There were choices for breakfast which we enjoyed on the terrace. The hotel is an easy short walk from the shops, restaurants and transport. There is a lot of local history and wonderful nature around the area, and we hope to be back one day.

Like the beginngs of each good thing, we here at New Dawn welcome you to the dawn of your vacation here at Kalimpong. Nestled in between the lovely himalayas, cradled in the laps of Kanchenchunga, New Dawn offers you a panaromic view of the lovely mountains and an epic sight of the great Kanchenjunga. Located in the heart of the town, just opposite to a newly formed complex with the first of its kind multiplex here at Kalimpong, New Dawn is so conveniently located that conveyance shall never be an issue. Just 5 mins walk to the Main Road from here, we are located at ease for commuting to various sight seeing centres in and around Kalimpong. Most importantly, we provide you with the best comfort, delicious homemade food (pure veg is also provided where meal is prepared in a separate kitchen), and amazing hospitality. All these at remarkably reasonable rates. We are here to cater your needs and not just make profits. We assure you value for your money and lots of beautiful memories.
Located in ninth mile, just before Kalimpong market. A very well maintained property.Rooms are clean and they serve homely food.Rakeshji and all the others are very supportive, caring and polite. In a clear day you can see Kanchenjunga from their rooftop. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Visited the place with family friends including kids. Had good food which was served with lots of warmth. Great staff. Enjoyed the experience. Had Chinese cuisine and normal dal chawal. They can accommodate groups also I guess. There's a family section as well.
Situated in the district of Darjeeling called Kalimpong at 4100 ft. We are surrounded by Mountains Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest from the rooms. It is a getaway you would love to undertake. Our services include food, lodging, travelling, paragliding, rafting, hiking. The tradition which binds us are to name a few: Gorkha (Nepalese), Bhutia, Lepcha, etc and we also serve authentic dishes.
Located in the center of city. Beautiful nature view from balcony. Attached bathroom with hot & cold water. Room service. Walking distance from the bus station, taxi stand & main market.
