The most exquisite private and relaxing destination. From arrival to departure, you are left speechless. I stayed in a tree house for 4 days and could have stayed for a month. The tranquility and scenery is magical. What you see on the website is what you arrive to, it is beautiful. There are lots to do around Hartbeespoort, but that depends on the type of holiday/break that you are after. Restaurants and food is 5 minutes away but the tree house is equipped with everything you need if you have your own food. A visit to the Cable Way is a great experience too. Take your own toiletries as they do not leave any shampoo etc.

Went in October with my friends from the U.K. after being postponed 4 times due to Covid. It was amazing to be in this slice of paradise. All the staff are amazing so friendly. It’s great to be sat in the beautiful gardens or in the restaurant looking at the beautiful scenery seeing all the animals walking past. It’s one of my favourite places, already booked for my birthday in August.

The staff was extremely helpful, friendly yet professional. The food was tasty. We loved our rooms overlooking the dam. Beautiful environment with beautiful clean rooms. The best retreat that we would gladly recommend to any one that would like to stay near Harties.

We stayed the night before a wedding at an adjacent property. The setting is very nice, among the pecan trees. However, the rooms are spartan and barely completed (bare bricks, pipes instead of taps etc). Some are still under construction. OK for a night's sleep, but very basic.

Hotel / Resort
1.Staff not welcoming 2.No identification of uniform(hygiene standard) 3.Reception ladies (Thembi and the other manager so she was called don't look professional to me) 4.The rooms are very dirty, we honestly wanted to check out but my drive was very long 5.Maintenance service very poor, the heater was broken and the stove kept on tripping 6. Requested Iron around 08h25 it only came at 10h00 7.The swimming pools are very dirty, the outside black bins are so very dirty as well 8.The one plier toilet roll its a NO NO NO 9.The owner needs to look in selling the place to people who will love the place 10. Cars comes in an out without being searched and no sign of any security for their guest safety 11.The cleaners spotted with no gloves on never the less our chalets were never sanitized 12.Drain smell as well needs attention. I will never go back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

La Bastide offers a piece of French countryside charm nestled in the Skeerpoort valley of the Magaliesberg mountain range. Escape the hustle of city life to relax and unwind in one of La Bastide's charming cottages, or enjoy breathtaking mountain views from lavender gardens or the poolside. La Bastide is conveniently located to access a variety of activities and dining experiences in the area.
We stayed in a lovely and spacious cottage. It had a homely feel. Everything we needed was there. It is close to the venues we needed to go to. We wished we could stay longer. I will definitely recommend it.

This place exceeded my expectations by far! It is perfect for a romantic getaway. The room was clean, cosy and cute. Staff were helpful and friendly too. We had a gorgeous view of the Hartebeespoort Dam from our bed AND were able to enjoy it from the bath and shower. The breakfast that is included was huge and so delicious. I loved my little getaway here.

Damascus Bush and Mountain View Lodge is situated at the foot of a 3000-million year old quartzite mountain; better known as the Magaliesberg. This private luxurious lodge is situated along the southern face of an age-old mountain range with quartzite cliffs which boasts spectacular scenery. It is only five kilometres away from the very popular tourist town of Hartbeespoort, and the Cradle of Humankind and Sun City are a few hours' drive, making the lodge a destination of choice in the North West Province of South Africa. The location is an easy one-hour driving distance from Johannesburg and offers visitors privacy at their own leisure, tranquility, and peace of mind in the undisturbed grasslands. Damascus Bush and Mountain View Lodge provides a luxurious setting with six en-suite rooms, all designed to offer maximum privacy. With the spacious self-catering kitchen, separated cosy boma area, plunge pool, and open sky showers, guests can enjoy a restful time around the 100 year-old eucalyptus trees or alternatively indulge in mountain bike rides of over 100 km in and around surrounding farm areas. Damascus caters for mountain bikers offering group cyclists packages. With health boxes as gifts and massages on request, the experience will be the best ever after a tiresome bike ride. The name "Damascus" reflects a renewed experience and the lodge was designed with this as an architectural inspiration. With steel, iron rock and a diversity of natural materials the exterior and interior designs bring just that to the visitor. Time here gets defeated by nature's over-abundance of offerings, light, space, and utmost quiet surrounds with only nature's pure voice in the background. For the adventure seeker the activities are endless; there are the Magalies Canopy Tours, Bill Harrops Ballon Safaris, Elephant Sanctuary, Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve, Pilanesberg National Park, Predator Park, De Wildt Cheetah Farm, Bush Babies Monkey Sanctuary, horse riding and quad biking, boat cruises on the Hartbeespoort dam; and over five golf courses within a radius of 50 km.

The lodge is situated back from the road so you don't hear too much noise, it's calm and tranquil. The rooms were excellent and the beds comfortable, pool was a little cold and lacked seating. Breakfast was very good, however the poor staff have a lot of walking to do and were therefore unable to be present most of the time. I would not recommend for family trips as facilities for kids is somewhat lacking, I would recommend for couples though.
