At 79 kilometers from the city of Medellín, Guatapé saw the course of a quiet agricultural and livestock town altered, when in the 70s a reservoir was installed that would start its career as a tourist attraction. Close to the place, there is the Rock of Guatapé, which stimulates the surprise capacity of its visitors, being a natural rock of 220 m, formed 70 million years ago and where a photo for the memory is obligatory, as well as in the reservoir with its artificial lake and archipelagos. Located in this place, with 27 years in the field, and only 600 meters from Piedra del Peñol, is the Bahía del Peñón EcoLodge, an area that welcomes passengers who go as a couple in an apartment with double or twin beds, as well as a cabana arranged with single and double cabins for those who go in groups of four.

Reviewed By EmpanadaPoliciaA nice spot tucked and hidden away right under the rock so it has a cracking view. Very professional and well organized with the rooms well equipped and clean. The only negatives would be the tiny 'Jacuzzi' that they charge the earth for and there is no food available, you can order food in and they provide lots of options which is great. However, everything seems to be 'an extra' which I don't think should be the case if its an old kayak or such like, that has seen better days.

Reviewed By Alexander1969We decided to go explore the Guatape area and this hotel was recommended to me by a local. The hotel is just past the great rock on the outskirts of the main city. The views are surprisingly good, you have views that face El Peñol, the main attraction in the area. But there is also a huge artificial lake that is part of a hydroelectric power plant towards the back; that’s where our room was. The room was smallish, but the view to the lake was exceptional. The bathroom was spacious considering the room itself, hot and cold water worked well. There is no air conditioning in the hotel, but you have a fan in case you need it. The elevators worked well, we were on the 3rd floor, the pool is well maintained but cold. What surprised me was the whirlpool: It was actually heated (Hot to be precise), and this is where I spent most of the time by the pool. In addition, the pool itself is supposed to be heated according to the maintenance workers by mid-December. The weather turns cool at night due to the lake’s proximity so this is a good idea. The breakfast was typical local fare: Eggs and sausages, bread, 2 types of bread, coffee and OJ. The staff was excellent in every way and very attentive.

Reviewed By 185mursalnThank you for the wonderful staff who made our stay in guatape memorable! The room is clean and was accommodating for four girls (bunk beds). They also provide free breakfast which was a plus! But the best part of the hotel was the view! Didn’t disappoint.

Ecological villas in the middle of nature. Each villa has its glamping room, private bathroom and private jacuzzi. We are Atma hotel , a concept of villas with glamping accommodation, ensuring a unique experience for our guests and at the same time very comfortable. Our hotel is surrounded by water and nature, we are located in the middle of the Guatape reservoir.
Amazing glamping! Staff extremely friendly and polite. We loved!

La comida que ofrece su restaurante es muy muy buena, fresca y deliciosa. La habitación cumple con lo prometido. Tiene parqueadero y WiFi. Mil veces recomendado y mil veces volveré.

Hotel Inseguro
Reviewed By Jorge CFuimos victima de robo en el hotel. Las puertas de las habitaciones son inseguras y esto permitió que ingresaran a la habitación y nos robaran tal y como se evidenció en las cámaras del hotel. Al hotel le falta control de acceso de personas ajenas y huespedes.
