I won a weekend trip to Kuzuko Lodge with my family. To be honest that was a good thing because I'm not sure I would have chosen to visit this place otherwise. Somehow eastern cape is more connected to garden route and the sea than game drives in my mind. But boy, was I wrong! Kuzuko Game Reserve is one of the prettiest parks I've seen. Not only you get to see a lot of animals, and you definetly do, but you really enjoy yourself while driving because of the gorgeous scenery.

Calm tranquility, healing nature! Bellevue Forest Reserve in South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape is a family-owned property comprising 2500 hectares of mountainous virgin forest with free-roaming wildlife within the Greater Addo area. Here, 165 bird species, buffalo, leopard, giraffe, eland, kudu, and other wildlife find refuge among some of the most scenic and wholesome landscapes to be found anywhere. We know you will too. A short drive from the renowned Addo Elephant National Park, guests are offered two significantly different experiences in the heart of nature – the gracious and elegant 4-star rated Elephant Lodge or the wildly romantic Stargazer Camp. The remarkably moderate climate and perfect orientation of the lodge ensures that cooling breezes keep the rooms airy, fresh, and comfortable even in the midst of summer. On hot days, a refreshing dip in our earth pool with its mineral-rich waters does wonders for the skin. Bellevue Forest reserve is more than a destination. We offer an immersive, connected experience – a discovery of the multi-faceted bounty of nature and a soul connection to the world around us. Our part of the Eastern Cape is water-scarce, and each raindrop is precious. Every care is taken to be as eco-friendly and water-wise as possible without sacrificing comfort, and to treat nature with extreme gentleness and respect. At Bellevue, we embrace ecologically friendly principles and responsible tourism for the benefit of our community, our country, and our future. We look forward to the opportunity of sharing this with you!
We could only stay one night at Bellevue Forest and would have loved to stay longer. The service was on an amazing standard and a friendly smile seen everywhere. The giraffe walk is a highlight in this region and we enjoyed it a lot.

Hopewell Private Game Reserve is an exclusive luxury hideaway on a private African game reserve in South Africa's beautiful Eastern Cape. The luxurious contemporary lodge nestled in the hillside hosts up to a maximum of 12 guests and overlooks the wildlife reserve, a reclaimed Eden in a once remote wilderness. Waking up to the sounds and sights of the African bush, sundowners above the elephants’ favourite watering hole, relaxing in a secluded private swimming pool overlooking the bush, together with sumptuous dinners under the stars, provide the memories that linger long after your stay. The passionate and experienced ranger guides guests through the rolling landscape, ever willing to stop and discuss plants, insects, birds and abundant game spotted along the way. Up close and personal interaction with a cheetah is a highlight. Superb cuisine, local drinks and two game drives daily included in the rate. Two or three nights recommended to get the full experience. Malari-free. Stunning
The attention to detail was out of this world. From the stunning room to the amazing staff (Christelle; Nceba; John; Oscar; Sylvia) we could not fault them for one thing. We will back, without a doubt.

Addo River-View Lodge is a water-sport and nature lovers paradise, nestled on the banks of the beautiful Sundays River, in the valley of Colchester. It is the ideal Addo Elephant National Park accommodation, situated a mere 3 km's from the Matyolweni of South entrance to the Malaria Free Addo Elephant National Park and 50 km's from the Port Elizabeth airport.
Magnificent place with plenty of room, very much needed Air-conditioning! All you could want from a kitchen, flowing into the living and dining area and then onto the spacious deck overlooking the rive. (Awesome View, but no swimming in the river due to lockdown while we were there...), so we spent most of the weekend alternating between the amazing pool area with its own braai, loungers and loo area and the upstairs sun deck. There was a full size Weber upstairs with plenty of comfy seating. The rooms are spacious, toilets are modern, excellent water pressure, premium linen and most importantly for me, excellent mattresses and pillows! 5 Minutes to Addo, shop and liquor store down the road and a fully fenced and alarmed house to round off an awesome time with friends. Will definitely be back again to make more memories ?

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every second of our time at The Safari Lodge. The individual rooms were simple but luxurious, the staff was exceptional, as were the meals and guided safari drives. If we could have stayed longer, we would have!
