Welcoming, tolerant Gran Canaria offers a little something for everyone. Families flock to the water parks and beaches of Puerto Rico. Those seeking peaceful escape scamper to Mogan's quiet fishing villages. Gay visitors crowd the bars, restaurants and beaches of Playa del Ingles. Urban attractions are on offer in Las Palmas. Three highways open up the island for those with a rental car or a bus schedule. Prime sites to visit include Iglesia de San Juan Bautista de Arucas and Palmalitos zoo park.

Agro-Hotel Rugama THe Senses Collection is a charming three-star hotel located in Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura. The hotel features thirteen rooms, which are completely fitted for you to live an exclusive, different and refreshing experience in an exceptional setting. The former manor house is characteristic of the 18th century and Fuerteventura´s architectural heritage. Therefore, it has a unique historical and cultural value. Also, the farm features four hectares of cultivable field. Most of the ecological products served at the Eco-Fusion Restaurant are grown here. At this restaurant, the gastronomy mainly bases on Fuerteventura´s tradition using products grown in the farm and in the island. This way, the hotel stands out for its captivating, but also healthy setting.
Rural Rugama is idyllic. From the verdant palm trees to the white stone walls of the building it is a beautiful hotel that could not be further away from the overcrowded, tourist traps on the coast. The complimentary breakfast they lay on is a feast of meats, bread, cakes, fruit and more. The bedrooms are beautifully rustic and cleaned spotlessly - the chairs outside our room were perfect to sit and read in early in the morning before heading off to explore the island. The bad reviews complaining about the lack of reception do not reflect the dedication the on-site staff had. In the morning there was always someone around to help with anything you needed and they were so friendly. We easily found our key waiting for us in a lock safe by the entrance of the hotel when we arrived in the evening - and check out was just as simple. The hotel is quiet and serene with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. We were an easy 10 minute bus from the capital (which had transport links to anywhere on the island) and a 5 minute walk into town for small shops and restaurants (we definitely recommend La Cantina!!!) I could not recommend this hotel enough for anyone looking to stay somewhere luxurious and beautiful whilst peaceful and gentle.

We needed somewhere clean and comfortable for an overnight stopover on our way to Cape Verde. This is perfect and gave us more than we needed. The Rooms were clean and we had large communal areas on a self catering basis. There is a large, well stocked Spar supermarket round the corner to buy everything we needed for a breakfast before leaving fro the airport. It seems to be run by a family and we met Christian who had little English but a good phone app! (sign of the times). He was very helpful and arranged a taxi pick up for us. Little village of Aguires is lovely and probably not often visited by tourists who come for the beach and sun. We would happily return.

Bref y a bien mieux à Aguimes!
