Absolutely beautiful - highly recommend!

We stayed at Spitzkoppen Lodge for one night at the end of March 2022 - due to it being off season, we were the only people staying there which made us feel like celebrities! PROS We had a gorgeous room overlooking the rocks where we watched the beautiful sunrise in the morning. The room was a fantastic layout, interior design (including upcycled materials, his and hers sinks) as well as had a power shower which was very impressive considering it was in the middle of the desert! They have little buggies to take you to and from your room with luggage too which is great. The whole lodge was very quiet (possibly because we were the only guests there) but it was also a private area to the rest of Spitzkoppen accommodation. The day we arrived, we went on the Sundowner Tour with Anna - this was great value for money, a fabulous tour where you can see things that would likely be more difficult to find yourselves and Anna was great - very fun and knowledgable! We spent the sunset by the pool watching the most incredible and peaceful view - highly recommend. In the evening, we spent time looking at the stars which are very clear from the lodge! The food was amazing - their head chef is currently in competitions for the best chef in Namibia! Finally, all staff were super friendly, hospitable and welcoming. CONS The only con is the internet is only available in the main area and is a bit flaky - HOWEVER, being in the middle of the desert this is to be expected and we actually loved being offline!

Twenty thatched-roof twin bedrooms, tastefully appointed en-suite shower, offer the visitor a unique, luxurious African experience. The restaurant with its panoramic view, bar and crystal-clear pool nestling amount the rocks add to the natural tranquillity of the surroundings.

Driving up to Ai Aiba after a long day with dirt roads was such a breath of fresh air. It is charming and beautiful. It feels intimate and private and welcoming straight away, and the landscape is dynamic and gorgeous. The staff were incredibly kind. The food was delicious, the sundowner hike with drinks on the mountain was fun and stunning. The room is charming, well equipped, and comfortable. We were told by our agent that there isn't too much to do and one night would be enough but honestly we were so sad to wake up and leave early--we wanted to enjoy a leisurely day to reset and recharge with a walk around, some pool time, a good book, great food, and kind people. Strongly recommend if you want a nice place to reset!

One of the most beautiful campsites in Namibia! We had pitch number 1 with our own shower and toilet. The pitch was very spacious and you have a fantastic view over the rocks. And it is super quiet. We woke up at night to a giraffe eating from the tree! Very friendly and helpful staff. A nice swimming pool with sun beds made of pallets. The food was prepared on Mopane wood and was very tasty, the cook also told us about the food with pride. From Madisa you can make an excursion to the elephants. We did, with a guide who tells you a lot about nature and shows you the most beautiful places and also knows exactly where we can spot the elephants. He consulted with local people and knew where the elephants would go. We were able to see elephants from very close by. I really recommend this trip. Keep in mind that you can't pay by credit or debit card at Madisa camp.

Disappointed with dirty room.

Reviewed By Manuela O

My low rating is for the below par cleanliness of the room. Great location & friendly staff. Room was spacious but very dusty/dirty. I was really disappointed. We were given a pool towel for bath towel. Bottom sheet was stained. Could not look through the windows as it was so dirty. We asked to have room cleaned but it was only marginally cleaned.

Rossmund Lodge

Rossmund Lodge is situated approximately 6km from the coastal town of Swakopmund on the northern banks of the Swakop riverbed. It lies alongside the 18-hole Rössmund Golf Course and residential Rossmund Golf Estate. The location has the advantage of being beyond the coastal mist belt most days of the year, permitting our guests to enjoy an abundance of good weather during the day, and wonderful starry skies at night. Non-golfers may stroll freely around the course within touching distance of herds of free-roaming springbok or enjoy identifying a large variety of bird species. Accommodation comprises 6 chalets overlooking the fairways and driving range, while another 14 chalets overlook the beautiful swimming pool built from natural rock. All chalets have the wonderful backdrop of the striking Namib Desert, the oldest in the world. Rössmund Lodge has free wifi in the common areas of the lodge and in all rooms situated around the pool. Aside from the included breakfast, light lunches and dinners are also available for guests not wanting to travel into town.

A relaxing oasis with great pool and garden

Reviewed By suewL9337BT

We (2 local Namibians) spent two nights in a self catering chalet. Loved the sparklingly clean pool and well kept surrounding garden. A true oasis in the desert! We spent time walking on the farm, saw Springbok, guinea fowl and interesting birdlife. Enjoyed reading on the comfy lounger chairs around the pool. A totally relaxing time. Friendly staff. Definitely a place to which we will return.

Pelican Point Lodge

Situated in the semi-remote solitude of a peninsula overlooking the ocean, the bay and entry port of Walvis Bay, a lighthouse breaks the horizon signaling that home is nearby. Pelican Point Lodge aims to extend professional individual service, in this exclusive and unique setting surrounded by sea and sand, guaranteeing your privacy and comfort in 9 luxury en-suite rooms, with private balconies. The presidential suite/honeymoon suite offers a breathtaking 360˚ view. Tranquility will strike the soul with inward relaxation and peace and guests will experience the opportunity to come in close contact with cape fur seal colonies, dolphins, whales, sunfish, endangered Damara tern, jackals, flamingos and pelicans. With the provision of luxury accommodation and dining to tantalize, all coupled with exclusive activities that are on offer, living the experience of Pelican Point Lodge is simply to die for! In order to maximize the experience at Pelican Point Lodge, we recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights. With our unique location in the Dorob national park, we are very much aware of the surrounding eco-system and hence do our best to minimize our carbon footprint by running the generator only at certain times, i.e. for a few hours in the morning and for a few hours in the evening; our team does switch the generator on, over and above those times if required and upon guest request and at additional charge. During the times that the generator is off, we run water on gravitational feed. Pelican Point Lodge is situated on the eco-fragile Pelican Point peninsula and is only accessible via a 4x4 vehicle or by boat operated by Pelican Point Lodge, we do not allow self-drive. One arrival Nature drive by 4x4 and one departure Dolphin Cruise by boat are offered complimentary, subject to pre-booking and weather dependent. Guests are being picked up by our guide from Walvis Bay Airport according to the flight arrival time; self-driving guests are collected from the meeting point at the Pelican Bay hotel in Walvis Bay, either at 14h00 or 17h00, subject to pre-booking. Our complimentary arrival excursion, which has to be pre-booked, takes our guests safely to Destination Pelican Point Lodge whilst already offering their first experience.

Interesting Experience

Reviewed By Allan_Sam1234

After all that has been written about this place, I give it Four stars because of the incredible staff. They could not have done more for us and tried to enhance our experience in every way possible. Kudos to Ivan Keith Bongani and Jackson. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which was interesting, major heat during the day as well as terrible flies and at night there is the lighthouse light flashing in your room every few seconds. The room is rustic to say the least. Stay in a regular room, much more comfortable and a place to put your clothes. Three nights is too long two nights would be far better and enough time to do and see the incredible things here, a photographer’s paradise. The food was amazing and as we were the only guests here, was modified to our taste. Unfortunately the generator only runs about 8 hours a day. This doesn’t sound bad for the adventurous but no water to flush and wash in a very “exclusive “ and expensive hotel is ridiculous. Great staff but needs work and a major price reduction.
