Nogatsaa Pans Lodge is located in a sought-after wildlife destination at the heart of the Chobe National Park, and is the only lodge within the Nogatsaa region of the park. Situated 80 km south of the Chobe River front area. The 12 luxurious spacious canvas tents are strategically placed for sweeping views of the Kwikamba Pan – the biggest of many clay bottom pans dotting the area.
The whole stay was sensational. I proposed to my partner during the stay and the whole team was very responsive to my wishes and far exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely accommodating, the food was very delicious and the rooms were very clean with a breathtaking view of the waterhole. In the high season there are up to 300 elephants. We will not forget this lodge and the warm staff so quickly. Thank you!

Small, Owner run property situated on the western edge of the Chobe National Park. Our remote location means our game drives do not reach the masses that inhibit other Chobe Lodges. Also enjoy boat trips on the Chobe and walks within the Chobe Forest Reserve. Muchenje offers Rustic luxury accommodation with outstanding views across the flood plains and into the Caprivi Strip.
Our mother daughter safari adventure began at Muchenje and throughout our time in Africa, we kept remembering this place and the people who call it home. From our first warm welcome to sharing hugs before leaving, our two night initiation into safari travel was perfect. Kiddy and Tuff are capable and helpful managers, but really, you felt like friends just enjoying their company in their home. Our safari guide, Ali, shared an encyclopedia of knowledge, stories, and his family and professional life with us as we explored the Chobe area during a morning and afternoon open air land rover ride, one night ride, and a long and leisurely afternoon boat ride on the Chobe River. This is not to be missed as the perspective of the land from the water is both beautiful and relaxing. The common lounge areas of the lodge were cozy, well-styled, and open air and family style dining was friendly and engaging. Each evening, one of the chefs introduced themselves and the meal to come…how charming! The food was delicious, filling, and always included a local flavor or ingredient and the conversations with other guests and staff made the experience even more rewarding. Afterward, the evening fire looked so inviting but the early mornings and lingering travel lag had us in our comfortable thatched roof cottage right after dinner where we slept peacefully despite the nearby elephants! Although we never lingered on our private deck to take advantage of the gorgeous view, we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage interior with every amenity…from a large rainfall shower to the soft linens on the bed. It was an unexpected pleasure to have quality perfumed soaps and hair products, a blow dryer, in room coffee/tea service, screened windows, bed netting and insect spray, a safe, and complete quiet and privacy. And, did I mention that in our short time we saw giraffe, elephant, zebra, impala, scrub hare, lion, hippo, crocodile, impala, kudu, sable antelope, cape buffalo, baboon, and birds everywhere? We will return someday and we recommend this Muchenje experience to all. (Traveled May 2022)

Thobolo's Bush Lodge and Campsite is perfectly situated allowing for easy day game drives into Savuti, Linyanti and the top end of the Chobe National Park river frontage. We are located at the largest natural pan in the entire Northwestern region - Barangwe Pan. Both the Lodge and the Campsite are totally off the grid operating 100% on solar. Our solar powered boreholes keep the pans full throughout the year providing us with an abundance of wildlife. Thobolo's (Setswana for Gunn) Bush Lodge is owned by Mike Gunn, who built and operated Gunns Camp in the Delta for 20+ years.
Lovely owner and staff, clean facilities, nice pool and magnificent wildlife viewing at the waterhole from your Campsite our from the balkony of the bar . Definitely would recommend this place to others!

Situated between Botswana’s northern towns of Kazungula and Kasane, Kwalape Safari Lodge offers the perfect base to discover the wonders of Chobe National Park and River, with its vast elephant herds and wildlife populations. Kwalape is only an hour away from the magnificent Victoria Falls and 1 km away from where four great African countries meet (Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana) making Kwalape an ideal location to explore from. Kwalape means ‘at home’ in Setswana and it is our management philosophy for all guests to feel welcome, relaxed and at home during their stay and to leave us as friends. We offer value for money accommodation with excellent service. Constructed of canvas, wood and thatch, in harmony with its luscious and naturally landscaped surroundings, Kwalape Lodge comprises 12 chalets each with spacious living areas, en-suite bathroom facilities and a private veranda; 12 safari tents and camping facilities for overland and private tours. The main restaurant and bar are thatched and nestled into the surrounding bush with the restaurant bar offering a stunning elevated deck, ideal for sun downers and sharing the day’s experience with other guests. Other facilities include a swimming pool, conference facility and Boma for starlight meals.
I stayed here recently for 2 nights. The room was a good size, with air conditioning and fast free wifi in the rooms. There was a limited buffet for dinner, and the food was poor quality. There was also a limited buffet for breakfast, but it was reasonable quality.

It is a old type lodge but will all the facilities. But the manager and the staff are willing to help guests. Nice location with a river view but they don't maintain restaurant and bars open for all the guest always.

We had a great stay at ruver view lodge! The owners and staff are fantastic and really do their best making you feel welcome (eg arranging our pcr tests, changing money for us, giving advice, etc). The premisis is clean; the rooms are nice and big. Food is good. The river cruise is a must! We would stay here again next time when we are near Kasane

Perched high on the eastern side of the Ghoha Hills, this hilltop retreat boasts unparalleled 180 degree views across the savannah and the natural waterhole which attracts wildlife year round. To the south east of the lodge, the Savuti Marsh beckons with its unique game viewing opportunities. The Marsh is a relic of an inland lake which is fed by the Savuti channel. Covered by extensive savannah and rolling grasslands, the wildlife is dynamic year round. The dry and wet seasons change the scenery and offer sightings of the annual migrations of zebras and predators. Elegance abounds in the eleven well-appointed canvas suites, which have been elevated on wooden decks, ensuring spectacular sunrise views. An exclusive and intimate ambience permeate this understated luxury lodge affording even the most discerning of travellers to Botswana a truly unique safari experience. Ghoha Hills is an eco lodge, using solar power for minimum impact to the environment. The lodge blends into the natural environment whilst maintaining the integrity of the pristine natural bush.
Such an amazing place to experience Botswana! We loved the beautiful rooms with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The staff was exceptional, especially our guide, Allen. Our game drives were spectacular, lots of animals and birds. I would highly recommend this lovely lodge.

We had a boat cruise on the Chobe River by Thebe River Safaris. The Chobe River is famous for the rich wild life on its banks, but we have found the ‘cruising’ safari very different to the usual driving. We could see many animals, and, what was important for us, from a different angle from the water site or in different circumstances, like swimming. Most impressive was to see a swimming elephant. The crew of the boat we were on was extremely professional and they managed to follow the elephant at a close distance so we could see it very well. It was unforgettable experience!
