The mythical and iconic Everest region is a world of its own, and the trekker’s holy grail. Our six beautiful lodges are a combination of Sherpa heritage and luxurious Himalayan homes, all built using sustainable technologies, employing local people, and growing our own vegetables. Sizable rooms all have heated beds and private en-suite bathrooms with hot showers—a luxury in these parts. We offer indulgent comfort, high-quality cuisine, and warm hospitality to weary trekkers.
Beautiful atrium with a ping-pong table! Attentive service, large rooms with private bath, hot water for shower, electric blanket for bed. Three course meal for dinner, breakfast was porridge, eggs, potatoes. Happy hour with free drinks and snacks before dinner. No heat in room but they ran gas heaters in the dining area all day to keep you warm. If the sun is out, the atrium gets nice and warm. Very quiet at night. Wifi was surprisingly good considering the remoteness of the location.

Sarang Wildlife Sanctuary is a unique jungle lodge built on isolated jungle property of 18.1 acres. Each cottage is designed in the manner of local Tharu tribe cottages with added modern comforts and amenities . Our operational concept is built on conservation, responsible tourism, and a commitment to local communities. We give employment preference to local villagers and employ active measures to conserve energy and resources consumed within our operations. Our resort is fully self contained and we own our own on site restaurant, elephants, boats, and off road vehicles to ensure activities operate smoothly. We offer various all inclusive packages which we are happy to customize to meet your needs as an individual traveler or group.
I recently spent two night at this resort and have to say that it was one of my worst travel experiences. We were taking for a boat ride in the river, which was pleasant and were expected to meet down the river bank with a set up picnic to view the sunset. When we arrived, there was no one there and were told that there was a slight delay and the set up would be done in five minutes. The five minutes turned into one hour and there was a “no show”. We stood at the bank like idiots while the rest of the customers from the other resorts enjoyed a relaxed sunset. I rang and tried to talk to the manger who had nothing but excuses to present which seemed to suggest that it was not their fault. Not only was he not helpful but also rude, impolite and lacked the basic communication skills to deal with a justifiably irate client. Upon return to the resort, I asked to meet the manager but he was conveniently absent. I categorically asked to speak with him, but he did not show up and even when we left the next morning he was no where to be found. I guess he did not think that it was worthwhile or necessary to personally explain and apologize to the client. I have never felt so taken for granted in my entire life. There was also no hot water in the room and when we had complained we were told that “perhaps we had turned the wrong nob” because there is constant “boiling” water in the property (we must be a bunch of idiots). They however promised to look into it and assured us of hot water but when we returned after the no show - “no hot water” (why am I not surprised). They then promised to look into the matter and at around 10:00 said they would send an electrician!!!! Two days no shower is not a fun way to experience a safari. On the positives, the support staff was friendly and genuinely welcoming , the food was good (nothing to rave about but good), the jungle safari was fun if you were willing to overlook the dilapidated condition of the vehicle, the room was simple but spacious but evident that they had not done a check to see if it was in good order before clients were hosted (power plugs not working, no batteries in the remote, not well aeriated etc). The entire set up lacked the “eye for details”. Over all very disappointed and would not recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, rejuvenating and stress free experience.

Nepal Cottage Resort, newly built property as per travelers choices, nearby vibrant touristy hub, is located in Thamel. Four detached buildings, including conference hall and dinning hall, comprise 24 rooms. All rooms have air condition, hot and cold shower, satellite TV, and broadband internet facilities. As all building are two storied and all top floor every single room has private balcony.
The hotel service is top. The owners are running the hotel by themselves so you can be sure of the quality. Staffs are very friendly. Reasonable price for good and clean room. You can also have lunch and dinner here. There are pomelo trees and guava trees in front of the building that we can taste :) just be careful with the mosquito. The hotel provides an electric mosquito repellant in the room. The hotel is very well located. It is so close to Thamel area where you can find everything. Thamel area could be very busy and noisy but we do not hear any noise from our room. We have a very good sleep here.

As hotel was on the bank of river and now on river army has built short of wall so one side of flow is not there and became tar road and lots of hotels popped up. Room was cleaned. Staff is very friendly particularly Mr. Arjun. Unfortunately in the month of May 3rd May) it was raining very heavily. Breakfast has little choice but sufficient. Book your activities and forward bus journey by yourself only do not do it through hotel staff. In house restaurant has limited menu but food was very good and reasonable. Lots of nice hotels in the vicinity at same rate with better infra and facilities.

Solid Rock Lodge & Restaurant is an ideal get away in Dollu/Pharping 15 km from Kathmandu. Unwind at the end of a forested valley with good food, hikes and camp fire. We are at the end of the Dollu Valley, renowned for its stunning natural scenery and spiritual importance. We have a comfy restaurant set up in a traditional Nepali farm house and 6 spacious rooms in newly constructed guest cottages.
There are a few things I love about this place. The first one is definitely the people who run it. Even though it was busy when I arrived without booking before (a group of runners made a big reservation) they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. I also love how beautiful and quiet the place is, it is exactly what I needed at the end of my trip. However, even though it is quiet there is a lot to do in the area as well! There are a lot of beautiful monastries and meditation caves and the hike over the small paths through the pine forest on the hills are beautiful too. I took it easy and mostly just sat around the lodge drinking lemon grass tea from their beautiful garden and reading my book. The food was great as well, very fresh and tasty. If I could have stayed longer I definitely would!
