We stayed all in all 6 nights. The place is centrally located in an embassy area, but suffers from lack of restaurants and shops in the vicinity, so everything has to be done with a zem. Rita is a very nice and kind lady, light breakfast is served in the wonderful airy veranda/porch. There is ample hot water, the washing was done for us and they will connect you with a great driver who will take you out of town if you so wish. Hypolite, the the logistics guy, will accompany you to the market and will show you around at no extra cost. Definitely recommended - we felt very safe with him. Reserve through booking.com - we found it to be the best deal (you will pay more if you reserve direct). Good aircon and good wifi too. Recommended!

When I got dropped off at this hotel I was at first convinced it was abandoned. It has that look. I wandered around pas the empty outdoor eating area and the indoor banquet room, the empty pool and the courtyard, I seemed to be the only person there. But eventually a guy showed up (napping possible) and showed me to my room. A tiny room with a private bathroom and nice linens but very small and only with one barred and tiny window up near the ceiling, prison style. The room was fine for my purposes. The staff were really nice and accommodating and made me delicious vegetarian dinners on request. The place was just so empty and it is so large, so it feels weird. A bonus though is that it is right on the highway so coming and going to other destinations was super easy. Also, the hotel is a nice walk to the main part of the town and all the touristy sights. (You can walk on the highway, but there is a much nicer walk on small occasionally paved backroads. If there was a more charming place that was more in town and was similar in price, I would opt for somewhere more charming, but this place was fine, especially for a short visit.

I came to the Gite of Possotome for a couple of nights to enjoy the lake, and do some tours with Eco Benin. The Gite is a really tidy, nice and clean place, and Leon who takes care of everything is really a soul of a man. He was able to cater to every wish and did so with a smile the entire time. There are rooms with private bathrooms and shared bathrooms as well, a nice common area for breakfast and relaxing, and the rooms have chairs in front to chill and read a book. The lake is in easy walking distance, as well as small shops to buy the necessities or more. Everybody was welcoming and friendly and I would certainly recommend staying here.

I had zero expectations so I was pretty surprised. Very clean. The staff were SUPER helpful. They helped us arrange transportation to the waterfalls and Togo. The bed was comfy. There was a standing fan and mosquito net.

We decided not to stay and make it a day trip from Natitingou., The taxi back and forth was 12000 CFA and the driver waited for about 3 hours util we were done. The guide was great, informative and super easy going with incredible knowledge, We visited 3 Tata homes, learned a lot about the local vegetation, saw how the live and work and basically had a great time. The end of the trip was at the local buvette. Highly recommended. A bonus was the cheap and great Shea Butter they sell there for just 500 CFA the box as well as their natural honey - great taste. Not to be missed.

Pas d'accueil ,pas d'envie, pas de proprios ? Bref pas terrible. Table très très sales. Bungalow décrépis à la dérive. Cuisine chère. Service médiocre. Ambiance glauque le soir. J'espère que ça va se redresser car le cadre et la proposition de base sont très chouette

This place is located up a hill, by way of a difficult road. They have a nice courtyard to eat with lots of plants and flowers, but the rooms are rough around the edges and could use updating. They also have difficulty with water because they are on a hill, so it was bucket showers and bucket toilets for us. I think I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again, but would instead pay a bit more and stay at Hotel Tata Somba, I think it is triple the price though. I have to say, the service here was excellent. There was a young guy doing everything and he was great, so nice and always at hand in case you needed something. If you're looking for a very basic place for a cheap price, this might be right. Our room did have a/c.

The hotel is right on the lake with a beautiful view. Porto Novo is a nice laid back town with a good museum and is worth an overnight stop. Our room was round hut style with a refrigerator, french only TV, wifi and good AC. The restaurant however does not measure up. Dinner choice was chicken or fish. We chose chicken after looking at lake. I'm not sure it was a mistake, but is was the worst chicken I have ever had. The rice and frenchfries (extra charge) saved the meal. The hotel does have a bar, but no vodka only gin and whiskey plus wine, champagne, pastis etc.
