I hiked from my campsite to the lighthouse my first morning on the island. The views were amazing. It was so peaceful and serene. It was foggy the other two mornings but my partner went with me the next time and we sat and watched the fog roll over the island. It was very cool. Highly recommend this lighthouse and make sure to stop at the gift shop to support the upkeep and find some unique souvenirs.

Winter or summer, you must go up to Miscou island lighthouse, where birds turn back. Try to be there for sunrise. Then you will be able to say " i went to the World's end.

This lighthouse is claimed to be the most photographed in the world. It is a must see on Campobello Island and can only be reached at low tide. The journey to the lighthouse is an experience in itself!
Set out to photograph lighthouses of Maine. Had a great trip ended up taking photos of 29 Maine Light Houses and 2 in New Brunswick Canada. East Quoddy Head was obne of the most photographic. Great trip. Good weather for October. Want to do it again.

Now part of the nature trust protected park area this lighthouse, island and mainland area is an excellent location to watch the Grand Manan ferry come or arrive at Black's Harbour NB. But you have to co-ordinate the low tide schedule as Pea Point lighthouse is on an island only accessible at low tide. And not its a bit tricky to get there as you have to walk over some rockweed plus navigate up the old and deteriorating boat ramp and follow the path to the lighthouse. It too needs a coat of white paint on the tower although I do see Coast Guard put some white vinyl siding on the lower portion. Come here, sit back and relax to the sound of nature, seagulls, fog or ship horns and more....

This lighthouse area is always mentioned on tourist sites as the best place to see the sunset and for several years, it's where we went to watch them when we were visiting Grand Manan. The lighthouse itself is a modern structure and not photographic like some others on the island. But for sunsets, continue down the road just a bit further and off to the right you'll see a parking area at the bottom of a small hill. Pull in there and there's a long wooden bench for people to sit and watch the amazing sunsets from here. The best part was that this is where the "locals" go to watch the sunsets and they were so awesome - telling us all kinds of great stories, how the fishing season is going, explaining how the aquaculture around the island works, recommending where to eat... We took some AMAZING sunset photos night after night after night and there's a great beach there that you can walk down to and do some beachcombing while you wait for the sun to set.

We stopped to admire this beautiful old lighthouse and the views on our way to Roosevelt Campobello International Park. The views from the hill were so beautiful as you looked across at the FDR bridge and into the town of Lubec, Maine.
