Turkey is bordered by eight countries with Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, the Azerbaijan and Iran to the east; and Iraq and Syria to the south. The country is encircled by seas on three sides with the Aegean Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The Bosphorus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles, which together form the Turkish Straits, divide Thrace and Anatolia and separate Europe and Asia. Turkish Marbling - Ebru Classes

We are an Art Gallery and organise Traditional Turkish, Ottoman marbling - Ebru workshops in our Art Gallery in Sultanahmet. Lessons are 2 hours with our local professional teachers from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul.Turkish Paper marbling is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to marble or other stone, hence the name. You can also draw flower figures which is traditional in Ottoman Art. The things you can capable of painting with Ebru is unlimited. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to a sheet of paper (or other surfaces such as fabric). This decorative material has been used to cover a variety of surfaces for several centuries. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. Part of its appeal is that each print is a unique monoprint.Need a break from the hustle and bustle of tourist life in Istanbul? Come take an art class with us.

Turkish Arts by Betul

Reviewed By mpegl5

I spent many hours with Betül and Ali enjoying their special hospitality in the studio. I did classes in Turkish tile painting, ebru printing and old Turkish calligraphy. I enjoyed every class and came away with special souvenirs for my family and friends that I made myself. I developed a special interest for these arts and I plan to continue learning and practicing the calligraphy at home. I would recommend to anyone to do at least one or two of the classes offered to enrich your understanding of what the beautiful city of Istanbul has to offer visitors.

Seramica

Reviewed By ezgi1i

While I was living in Istanbul, I attended classes at Seramica for more than two years, every week. It is not only a place that can teach you how to throw or make a unique piece that you choose, but it is also a place where you can relax and be disconnected/connected to the world depending on what you want! It was magical every single time, and I admired how the teacher just listened to you on what you want to create, and work with you towards achieving your best. He remembered every student's unique art, and worked towards bringing that to life. I am forever grateful to Seramica for giving me the peace of mind in a busy life and city. I am trying to find a similar place in States, but no luck so far! If you have the chance, please visit and learn more about how you can attend their classes.
