The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

Create your own tile, with the guidance of a great sculptor with 20 years experience in the field. All necessary materials and equipment are included! Get your tile delivered at home through post later! I invite you to learn a new set of skills during you private tile making session. My biggest passion is working with ceramics. I have been doing this for the past 20 years, and by now it's more than a hobby for me. It's a way of relaxing, of self-expression, and giving my gift to the world. I want to teach anybody who is willing to try out something new, with openness and curiosity. Don't worry about never doing it before! I will show you everything and work with you side by side. I will tell you all about traditional ceramic, about the process of making tiles, styles and techniques. Together we will design and "cook" tiles. Making ceramic is a process that means burning the tile twice in the oven so you won't be able to take the tile with you on the spot but you can either take another one already made from the workshop or you can get it via post in a few weeks time. Let's become artists for a day and have fun together! :D

We are Alba & Marisa, the founders of GAZETE AZULEJOS. We work in the areas of design and culture and we are both in love with Portuguese tiles. Together, we are building the only public catalogue of the tiles that cover the facades of Porto: OS AZULEJOS DO PORTO. We walk around the city taking pictures of tiles to complete our archive. We are also researching about its history, making techniques and designs. Everybody should know this incredible heritage. And we are here to make it happen :)
Wonderful visit, Alba and Marisa demonstrate mastery of the subject’s lore and technical methods with genuine appreciation and true passion. A labor of love

Shambala means in Sanskrit "a place of peace, happiness and tranquility". Some say "that Shambhala is a purely imaginary land, but others say it is a real place, and that it can still be found, only if the browser knows where and how to look." It allows you to feel, relax, rediscover yourself. My mission is to help you connect with you, disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so that you will be reunited step by step. Based on these values, you find in Shambala a refuge from the stress of everyday life. Through a diversity of therapies, workshops, and with the accompaniment of experienced and specialized professionals, who will assist you in the path of your rediscovery and reunion with your Self.
