Top 10 Lessons & Workshops in London, England

July 25, 2021 Malia Yoakum

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

I took the WSET Level 2 online course as my ‘lockdown hobby’ and had a great experience. The classes were 10:30-12:30 on Saturday mornings which fit seamlessly into my life (eventhough tasting wine in the morning feels a bit naughty!). The instructor (Sam) was professional and a great teacher, often teaching us interesting things beyond the course material which made the sessions fun and helped solidify our knowledge.

I did the cakes and pastry class which was fantastic. Maria makes you feel very welcome right from the start. For beginners like me, it was an ideal introduction to the world of baking. The recipes were accessible and utterly delicious. I'd say this class would also be good for anyone with previous baking experience, since Maria gave lots of helpful tips that will improve anyone's baking. You get welcome cookies on arrival too, which were AMAZING! Highly recommended. Oh, and I felt completely COVID safe. Spacious kitchen and a high standard of cleanliness

Sam is an excellent host, very knowledge and has some wonderful anecdotes that make learning about wine easy to understand and lots of fun. We've also been enjoying the weekly wine quiz on a Saturday evening. Again, fun and filled with lots of interesting wine info!

Absolutely brilliant. We took part in Rachel's Mulled Wine & Mince Pies virtual cooking class for our work Christmas party and we all loved it. Rachel sent through a full ingredient and equipment list well in advance of the session, offering alternative suggestions for those who required it. She was then very attentive and clear with instructions throughout the class, giving great advice even through a camera lens! Great fun, learnt a new skill and got to enjoy delicious food and drink at the end of it!

My husband and I attended the half day digital photography crash course which was brilliant - Lianne was our tutor and she was extremely knowledgeable and explained the concepts thoroughly. While it was alot to take in in such a short time, this was perfect for us as we wanted to understand the settings and functions on our cameras and Lianne explained everything perfectly. I would highly recommend this for beginners or people who just want to learn to use their cameras properly to get the best pictures possible.
