Reviews on Lazio food in Vatican City, Lazio, Italy. Sure, Vatican City is tiny—110 acres—but it houses the world's largest Catholic church (St. Peter's Basilica) and has perhaps the best collection of artistic masterpieces in the world (the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's Pieta, the Laocoon Group, etc.). And maybe only 800 people live here, but one of them's the Pope. It's a pretty good argument for quality over quantity.

We decided to stop here for the â¬10 lunch after seeing the copious good reviews, and the promotional board outside, but were sorely disappointed..We were initially given the full menus but as soon as we mentioned the deal, we felt the change, and had to ask 3 different staff members for the lunch deal menu. The sign outside promises a bottle of water, a portion of bread and a plate of pasta, all for â¬10. Sounds great, as we didn't want to overindulge at lunch, preferring to save ourselves for a lengthy affair in the evening.Eventually, we were told the pasta dishes on offer, picked 2 and waited patiently. And then we waited a little more. And then a little more. Not only did we watch 2 other couples enter after us, and finish their meals before we even had ours, but we didn't even get the bread to tide us over in the meantime. Not even one between us, instead of the advertised portion each!We also only had one bottle of water between us.When they eventually brought our food, we were given a cursory 'sorry for the wait' but feel that if you were genuinely sorry, you'd of popped over earlier to say so.My partners Amatriciana was nice enough but my carbonara was so salty that I couldn't eat half of it, (and I have a high tolerance for salt, almost to the point of overseasoning) and both of our pastas were a good 3 minutes away from being Al dente. At this point, having already waited over 40 minutes, we weren't going to send them back for them to finish cooking the pasta. We HATE to complain, being in the industry ourselves, but this was literally the worst meal we've ever had anywhere in Italy in all the years we've been coming. If you're not happy to have lunch deals, then don't offer them. Don't do it begrudgingly and make customers feel cheap. Sorely dissapointed

Pasta factory. We served our pasta, mediterranean and gourmet. With traditional roman dishes. Also we served fresh vegetebles, dessert and main course.
I cannot imagine a dining experience more perfect than this. The ambience was so cozy and intimate. The owner is a wonderful man who is so much fun to talk to. And the food... simply incredible. I ordered the Carbonara and it was the best meal I've ever had Rome

We had a lovely meal here recently. They have a mixture of genuine and unique Italian dishes along with the tried and true favorites, such as meatballs. All tasted home made. Service was impeccable. Prices extremely reasonable. I will go again before I leave.

Very close to te Vatican museum, a typical Roman fast food. You can taste the traditional food of Rome like Porchetta, specialities from Italy like Prosciutto crudo San Daniele, buffalo mozzarella. You can drink draft beer or a glass of best Italian wine
Lovely little restaurant that is run by amazing and friendly staff. Recommended family members who are visiting Rome to come in for food as it was delicious! Perfect place to come and eat after a long day of sightseeing. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed and the decor is lovely and very trendy. Will be back next time Iâm in Rome!!

We went today there and the food was absolutely amazing! I had some pasta with clams (10 euro) and my boyfriend lasagna (8 euro). They were both on the menu of the day and it was the best choice we could have made. And then, we got an extraordinary tiramisu (I have no words to describe it - I do not usually eat tiramisu, but this one... I could not stop ). I think we are going back for sure. They also have very good artizanal beer (5 euro). A must try!

This was a nice little shop close to our hotel and not too far from the Vatican. The pizza is not too expensive and is very fresh. It's not the classic pizza you would have elsewhere, but it is definitely tasty.

After Vatican Museums we went to Pizza Zizza. Worth every cent. Can't believe how good it can be beside bussy street, small tables. They treat you like a family. They brought us everything we asked. Mixed pizza platter, some extra slices, some taste examples.... After all that rubber duck sound when you leave some tip is just awesome. Roberto is crazy guy who makes great Pizza.

Popped in for a snack after a long tour of The Vatican. Only had a Lasagna but it was the best one I had the whole time we were in Rome.

Borgo 139 is a small laboratory of Italian gastronomy, Mediterranean cuisine prepared by Italians according to our tradition. We offer a wide range of express sandwiches, with fresh, top quality and strictly Italian ingredients. The bread, fragrant and al
Itâs a perfect place for the people who like tasty sandwiches with fresh ingredients cooked fast. To be well satisfied be sure that your wishes are transferred to the barman before you got the order;) we came here on the October 17-th, 2019 expecting itâs a fastfood and was not disappointed! It was the best panini ever (Parma and Modena, coka cola and beer - â¬14 in total for two persons). The barman was very positive and friendly, he take care of you needs cooking from the heart and his please keeping it clean. At the end weâve got a compliment from the barman and I would say that it is one of the thing needs to be tasted. Do not listen feedbacks from the people who visited this place thinking itâs a restaurant and was disappointed! I recommend.

Fish Restaurant. Dishes from Roman cuisine revisited with typical Sicilian products. Dishes from Roman cuisine tradition.
We dined here two nights ago and had fabulous food and service. The grilled octopus was the best Iâve ever had. We ate outside in the upstairs patio. We recommended the place to some acquaintances last night and they enjoyed it immensely. We just finished dinner there again and weâre not disappointed.
