Reviews on Latin food in Guayaquil, Guayas Province, Ecuador. Founded in the 1530s, Ecuador's largest city and main port is the top access point for Galapagos cruises and home to a bustling import-export business. Tourism is on the rise as well, thanks to a new international airport and urban renewal projects along the River Guayas promenade and in the historic neighborhood of Las Peñas. The 465-step climb to the top of Santa Ana Hill provides sweeping views and a chance to stand on the site of the city's birthplace.

Meal took a while in coming but worth the wait. Shrimp and fish in coconut sauce . Lots of rice . Jug of lemon juice a nice compliment to the meal

Your distinctive Guayaquil hotel dining experience begins at Rio Grande Restaurant with cuisine that is exquisitely prepared by local culinary artisans, served by professional, friendly staff, and accompanied by an extraordinary wine list. Our lavish brea
We dined here and had a wonderful experience. You can set indoors or outside near the water. Service was really good. Cocktail prices very very expensive so we opted for a bottle of wine which was a better value. The ceviche here was great, better than in Peru. We shared a green salad with strawberries, orange slices, avocado and lettuce which was easily big enough to share. My husband had shrimp and rice which was delicious. I had mar y tierra ( surf and turf) which came with risotto and was also quite good, especially the beef. The mains are quite large servings.

I can't remember when is the last time I ate such good crabs and the conchas are simply to die for. The service was absolutely excellent.

When everything on the menu (including appetizers) is $13-17 you know you are in an expensive restaurant. We took a cab to this restaurant on the recommendation of trip advisor and while I was not disappointed in the meal itself, I was a bit shocked at the prices. Also, I agree with another reviewer who said to get the crabs simply boiled and no sauce, which I did not do and ordered the garlic sauce. Wish I hadn't because it was just way too over powering. Still the whole experience was a good one (and the service was excellent) but I think I would try another place next time.

Contemporary ecuadorian cuisine restaurant with a casual environment and seasonal dishes located at one of the most beautiful places of the city.
We enjoyed tapas in this restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. They patiently answered our questions regarding the menu. All dishes were perfectly prepared. We enjoyed the stone crab claw in coconut sauce, hamburger sliders, chicken empanada, pork belly sliders and crab claw with rice coconut. Portions were just right for two. Cocktails were well balanced. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the nice breeze and views of the plaza. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive and did their very best to accommodate us.

The restaurant is comfortable with nicely spaced outdoor tables and good service. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. This is a typical pseudo Mexican restaurant similar to basic Tex-Mex restaurants in the U.S. Not the most authentic but the food is good (not great or cutting edge in anyway) and simple. The burritos were huge and were not bad at all. Nachos were fine, not a great stand out but this restaurant is not shooting for the stars. Its a simple, relaxing restaurant that has nice outdoor tables located in an upscale retail and restaurant complex.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for seafood. The food was delicious. We actually ordered too much! The seafood soup was one of the best we have had. It was a large bowl full of seafood and delicious broth. The ceviche âlo nuestroâ was served in two large shells and was delicious as well. We also enjoyed the quinoa salad and another dish with rice and seafood. We ended the meal with a slice of chocolate cake. At first the service was a bit slow (there was a large birthday group) but our waiter was experienced and very nice. This place is a gem for seafood!

Fantastic restaurant with superb service. All of our meals were excellent. Started off with banana chips with sauces. The very best banana chips I have ever tasted. We had the small salad and it was very unique with a tasty dressing. I ordered the lomo saltado estilo peruano. Tasted just like the lomo saltado in Peru but maybe even better. The flan was the best flan I have ever tasted. It had a coconut crust. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

We were taken to this restaurant by our local friends. It was great to see a menu in English and Spanish. I was disappointed because I wanted a garlic dish with crab and shrimp. Was told they did not currently have crab. Had the shrimp, it did not disappoint. The rice was really tasty too! Yes it is croweded and noisy. The food however was worth it! The wait staff took good care of us.

Friendly staff and menus with pictures if language is an issue. The food was fresh and very flavorful. There was four of us and we ordered four dishes to share. Plenty of food. Asked them to call us a taxi and a waitress walked us out to street to meet taxi and waited with us until taxi came.
